When buying international postage through the shop manager website, the "value per item" field in the customs info is often (not always) left blank. This is info which Etsy has, and should be able to fill in; whereas I have to open up each order in a new browser tab to check the price of each item. It adds significant time and irritation to the postage buying process, especially since it worked with no issues until a few months ago. Please fix it.
I reached out to Etsy numerous times about this. The response I received was that unless you are using calculated shipping options, this is never been something that has been done. Having used the platform for the last seven years and always having this populate before this makes no sense to me. Highly frustrating.
I eventually found another thread about this, with a workaround which has consistently worked for me since... If the "value per item" field is empty, hit Cancel, then start the process to buy postage labels again, and it'll be populated second go around. It's annoying if you've already made changes before noticing, but it's still normally better than having to load up the order and manually put in the info.
Thank you - I saw that as well and it worked for a period of time but now that trick has also stopped working. I reached out to ETSY support and they are apparently already looking into it.
