I am getting this caption when I try to work on my listing
"Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region"
Please, help me view the listings so that I can work on them in preparation for reopening my store after my vacation time. Thank you

your shop is open with 177 listings
I can add them to my basket and go to checkout.
At the bottom of your screen, are you set to USA as a viewer
Buyers in France are no longer able to purchase items over 150€ that will be why your seeing this notice if your viewing from France.
Following a similar problem, and after checkin with various VPNs and asking loyal customers, we've contacted Etsy. Etsy support just replied with this (quotes):
1.
"...due to challenges in applying certain tax laws in France, it is not possible for buyers to purchase items with a value over €150 at this point in time from sellers based outside the EU." <--- MOREOVER. ppl in France, Germany, NL, can't view non-EU-sellers items, they don't even show on search. Do items on Amazon and eBay by non-EU sellers also simply do not show up? of course not. Do Etsy stock holders know about this? They do now.
2.
"Additionally...listings are not available for buyers in certain regions due to regional restrictions, but I want to set your expectation that your listing is searchable and viewable to buyers in other regions. <--- FALSE and WHAT. What "certain regions" and what "other regions"? Listings are not searchable and not viewable to France, UK(!) Etc. citizens. Fact.
3.
"...another way for you to search your listings by searching as a buyer or using a different or guest account. Once the region/location is changed (ex. USA instead of France/UK) you should still see the products actively listed." SERIOUSLY? should shop owners now hunt every France/UK/ etc citizens and ask them to change their region to "U.S"? How Exactly? These markets are simply banned from our inventory. Plus this is FALSE - changing the region/location does not affect, the above markets still are not exposed to our listings my all means.
Anyone else facing a problem with listings not showing up for France, UK, etc. visitors, please share your thoughts?
Cheers
Hi @BoldModern,
Thank you for this message you posted here!
I am a French living in Morocco and selling moroccan rugs from Morocco (Etsy shop called SHKOON). I heard about this problem and asked my Instagram community to do the test for me. So far only people living in France got problems seeing my listings (US ok, UK ok, Canada ok, Finland ok).
My (French) brother in law who lives in the US couldn't see some of my listings either. He switched "Region" from France to United States in his settings and then it worked.
I guess it confirms that answer you received from Etsy support.
Still frustrating though...
Yes, in some countries you must fill in some forms and registrate that the company you have, is "green" and that everything is recycle. It cost money to register in different countries. And it is not that when you register, you are covered in every country, it only covers in the country you register. It is crazy.
The OP is in the USA, which is why I advised making sure their viewing country was set to USA
....
The French law is crazy, it's the same situation with Amazon, on items over 150 euros
France have put "add ons" to the EU laws for platforms, which means it's practically impossible to sell there from a platform outside of France, orders over 150 euros, you have to be a large retailer, or your own website .
Thanks for the insight, unfortunately the same thing happens with UK/Germany/NL (and probably more EU) citizens -
listings are filtered out for the above markets, they simply don't show up on search and are impossible to view (or purchase obviously). Meaning, a major platform (i.e Etsy) simply filters out massive markets without any notification or explanation to its users (seller in this case). Huh...?!
I see 553 listings, I am in the UK, and have gone through some of your listings, and all the ones I tried are available to me
There are regional restrictions on selling knives to the UK, but that is also the law for online selling.
I did search, and you have 1 painting for "knife" but even etsy seems to have sorted it out, as I could view it and add it to my basket.
Not only French but also Germany. We now have to pay to sent to the other countries separate
@CraftyCornishMaids in their about page they say they ship from Paris and USA that was why I thought they may be viewing from France.
Has anyone got a workaround for this that they have had success with?
Perhaps making sure listings are under the threshold value. Or asking customers to purchase 3 lower value listings to make up the total payment required.
Thanks!
The order has to be under, so ordering 3 lower value listings in the same order, won't work, if the total comes to over 150 euros
It would need to be 3 separate orders
The suggestion to divide an item into three different orders (or even more!) cannot be serious. After many tries, I have concluded that the problem is Etsy, since I did not have any trouble with viewing my listings from Europe before. I still not have any problems with my other platforms now. Etsy has obviously changed their algorithms. I do appreciate all your efforts to help. Thank you so much
I meant "while in Europe". Sorry...
Hello, I have the same problem and it doesn't even make sense as my shop is actually in France... Any updates from your side? Etsy support is not able to help me so far...
Thanks
@OkameGallery As noted above, France has initiated a new regulation. Anything over 150 Euros will not be seen by French buyers.
I think it makes no sense at all but I am a seller in France and today I had to edit some shipping prices and it does this now with one of my listings, but I am in France! I have contacted Etsy.and I am waiting for a response.
