The customer was confused so I had to make a work around and publish a public listing for them to order and send them a link to the item, abandoning the option of the private listing that is BROKEN

I had this problem earlier. One of the other sellers gave me a workaround. I copied and pasted the link to the listing and sent it via Etsy convo to my customer who was able to complete the purchase.
Go to Shop Manager - Listings - filter on the right to "Expiring Latest" - when you see the custom order, click on the gear icon and "View on Etsy" - now copy/paste the URL into a message to the Buyer.
Thanks for the workaround that's really helpful. The problem is still ongoing it seems!

it was done anonymously without any names given, only RELAVANT imformation was used.
