print provider shipped order late. Star eligibility affected?

I received an order 10 days ago and the print provider was late to ship the order past the suggested ship date on Etsy. I read the guidelines and it did say Etsy doesn’t hold the seller accountable for shipping delays beyond the sellers control from third party print providers considering star seller eligibility. However checking star seller eligibility it shows one order was shipped late. How do I get this back on track so it doesn’t go against me when it was beyond my control as the seller?

Where exactly did you read that? I'm not seeing it anywhere on the star seller help center page. 

As far as the late order...you should have updated/extended the ship by date before it was considered late.  Etsy provides tools for us to deal with these sort of issues, it's up to us to use them.

Even if you use a production partner it's still ultimately your responsibility. Sure it may be out of your control but it's still your responsibility as the business owner. Next time be a bit proactive and adjust the ship by date if your printer is running behind. I would also suggest adjusting your processing time a bit beyond whatever your printer is quoting that way you have some wiggle room if they do get behind again.

Thank you for your advice. I’m fairly new to Etsy and did not know I could  adjust the processing time. Lesson learned. I’m very worried this will affect my ranking and I was on track to become a star seller. The customer didn’t mind the order was behind. Can you please advise me on how I go about adjusting processing times? All items are shipped from a third party print provider. Does this affect adjusting processing times? Thank you for your help in advance.

Some print providers may delay or not print your items with company logos or other items that are not your original work or idea. Care Bears, Magic Mike, Tide, GI Joe, Ferris Buellers day off, goonies and maybe some others that I dont recognize may cause you issues down the road. The companies themselves may contact Esty and have them removed.

Also there is something with the smiley face. Heard you need to be careful of that thing.
