When I look at my posting profile, I'm listed as a "post crafter". where did this designation come from, and why am I not listed as an "Etsy seller", which is what I am.
Hello!
Prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even).
Please note that reviving old threads can cause confusion for members reading, so always check the dates of the most recent replies before posting.
Having said that, we are closing this thread as it is indeed a bit older, and the information contained here may be outdated, however feel free to start your own thread if you still would like to discuss this topic.
Thank you!

This was a (misguided?) "light bulb" moment for someone at Etsy last year who thought it would be a "good idea" to introduce a ranking system for Etsy Forum Contributors. Basically, Forum Contributors are ranked on how often they read posts, how often they post or comment , how many times they get "likes" etc and how many times their post has neen accepted as a "solution".
The Ranks are:
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411944634775-What-are-Etsy-Community-Ranks-and-Badges
Well now that explains why there are no "inspiration makers" yet -- they haven't been calculating this for two years yet. I thought we had nominated sellers a while back in an admin post, and wondered why they hadn't actually gotten that rank. (Not that it matters, of course.)
I have never seen an "Inspiration Maker" either, although I have read many "Inspirational" posts.
One wonders who taught Etsy to count because many of the contributors have been active as a "a member of our Community for at least two years." just not 2 years since this "Inspired" Ranking System was implemented?
Thanks for the answer - at least now I know it's really meaningless.
Absolutely. Just think, your next grading will be a "promotion" to "Crafty Poster". Bet you cannot wait!!!
The problem I am finding with this ranking system is that I am denied access to specific articles because I am not ranked as an "Etsy Seller" even though I have an Etsy Shop.
@janinaANDjosefina: "... I am denied access to specific articles because I am not ranked as an "Etsy Seller" ..." You are already "higher" than an Etsy seller. You may want to read https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411944634775-What-are-Etsy-Community-Ranks-and-Badges?segme...
@BagmakerSupply Just an aside ....has anyone ever seen an "Inspiration Maker"?
"You've been helping to build the community with your contributions for a long time, and have been a member of our Community for at least two years."
Apparently, this "rank" has been earned by 1 Member
@CarpetCollectionAU: According to Etsy, there is one Inspiration Maker. Click on your profile, then <View All Badges> to see how many accounts have each badge.
I have never seen anyone achieve the "Inspiration Maker"
How do you know it's been achieved by one person?
@BagmakerSupply Yes, I was just wondering who achieved the "Inspiration Maker" rank. It has been well over 2 years since these "rankings" were implemented. Despite reading Forums every day, I have never seen the one "Inspiration Maker"
@audreytherese Click on your Profile in Forums. Expand "View all Badges". This will take you to your Badges earned
Apparently there is ONE Inspiration Maker
89 Community Makers
905 Conversation Makers
6810 Crafty Posters
I see that now.... interesting.
They're a unicorn among us.
@audreytherese or ....a Chameleon?
