You don't need the app on a desktop computer. Just go to the full etsy website. The apps are meant for mobile devices like phones or tablets not for desktops or laptops.

Do you mean on your shop manager dashboard? With a blue box around it and says "check out the new etsy seller app..."? If so that's just etsy letting sellers know that there is a new app available if they want to use it. It's just a notification like any other notification or message they add to shop manager dashboard. They don't know if you have or use a mobile device or not so they just put it on everyones dashboards. Most of the notifications they put there have an x somewhere to remove/close it but sometimes they don't...this is one of those times. There is currently no way to close the notification or remove it from dashboard until etsy decides to remove it. For now all you can do is ignore the notification on shop manager dashboard.

The Etsy app is for mobile devices. Just use a browser on your desktop. It works better than the app anyway.

Re: new ap trouble

The app is for mobile devices only and cannot be used on a desktop or laptop unless you install Android or IOS. There is no reason to do that or to use the app on a non-mobile device.

@BlueRibbonConfection: There is really nothing on an Etsy app that you cannot do, and probably do better and easier, using a browser. For the rare exception (like Shop Updates) we use a mobile OS emulator on a desktop to run the app.

Re: new ap trouble

I have another problem..... "there is a check out our new Etsy seller app" on my dashboard/shop manager page on my desktop computer.  I have not clicked on it or touched it at all, but now I am getting a wonky page for listing when I try to revise one of my pages from a sold item.  It changes the page and I loose the shipping options and it will not let me preview either.  Last night I finally wound up being able to revise the item I wanted to resell by saving it as a draft first and then went to the draft copy and it let me do the revisions and kept all my normal selling/listing settings.  Also got rid of the stupid inventory information section I would never need or want!  I find this revising of my page for selling totally annoying especially now when I am trying to get my extra listings on for the holiday season.  Your app is a problem.... even when we are not using it.  I have no desire to use it and I only list on my computer.  No tablet....No phone, but it is treating my computer like it is one of those so your app is stupid and broke and causing at least me an annoying problem!!!

Re: new ap trouble

"Wonky" is Etsy's middle name. Glitches happen all the time but usually don't last very long (a few seconds or minutes most of the time). They're probably just coding errors.

Just keep using the regular Etsy site. Although you'll see mentions of the new Etsy app on your Etsy dashboard, that's because Etsy shows this information on both desktop/laptop as well as mobile devices. If you're not interested in the new app, just ignore the information.
