on my platform under my logo you are showing the public how that I had 1 Sale
@2022scarvesbysusan: "... you are showing ..." Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).
The number of sales made by a shop is information which sellers have no way of hiding.
@ThePurplePuppy It still is an option to hide the actual items. You choose 'no, hide them' in Settings > shop options. The OP chose to hide them.
@ThePurplePuppy: You can only block people seeing WHAT you sold (and the original poster has already done that) but I do not believe you could ever hide the number of sales.
You can’t control or remove that.
Neither can anyone in the forum.
If you want a shop with no sled, close this one and start a new one.
No sleds? (lol)
Why would you not want to show sales?

IT seems to me ( there used to at least) be a way to keep people from seeing what you had sold--did they do away with this. I am pretty sure for a time there everyone and their puppy dog was doing this--and I never understood why.
I know you can't block how many sales you have made but you used to be able to block seeing the actual items

I know you used to be able to block people from seeing your sales but do not know if that option is still available.
I don't understand why someone even does this, but they do.
@ThePurplePuppy You can block the sold items, but not the amount of sales.
I don't understand why someone even does this, but they do.
For those of us who choose to do so, we know the why.
So tell me.
I have heard some people say--well, I don't want someone to copy my best seller. Depending on what is being sold I could copy a lot of things in my niche just by looking at the photo (not all) if I wanted to. IF it is a crocheted item I only need to look at a photo and can copy anything I have ever seen without buying a pattern. So as long it is an active item it wouldn't matter if it is "sold" or not.
That is why I don't hide mine. I know if someone is adapt they can jut look at the photo and copy.
It's really best not to assume an answer to a question you asked.
It's an option Etsy offers, and I choose to use it - you know, for MY business.
In turn, you can choose whichever option you prefer. Nothing wrong with either.
I reread the whole thread and I didn't see anyone assuming anything.
I respect a seller's right to hide what they have sold, but I also do not understand why some want to do this and would truly like to hear some of the reasons. The only one I know is the one mentioned by @ThePurplePuppy
Thank you.
I am now bowing out for the night. I feel I might get snarky and I do not like being snarky--I can't sleep when I feel snarky. LOL
Reasons I deactivated the sold items link:
(a) I want buyers to look at what I have for sale now and not go down the rabbit-hole of items I sold years ago.
(b) I already get enough messages from people asking to buy long discontinued fabric.
(c) Do you remember how poor digital camera technology was in the early 2000s? I do.
I might feel differently if I had a newer shop. As it is, showing sold items feels like handing my high school yearbook to people visiting my house. Why wouldn't I hide them?
@ThePurplePuppy I'll tell you why I hide my sales. I've been here since 2007, and in the very beginning, I WOEFULLY underpriced my items. Over the years, I've been gradually increasing prices to what I consider a fair market value, and as part of this effort, I've extensively upgraded my pattern standards and revised older designs accordingly to justify the increased prices.
But I don't want anyone pulling up sales from years past and see that back then I sold a given design for X and that now I'm selling it for considerably more. (You do have to expend a bit of effort to see the sold price, but you can if you know where to look.) I don't need to explain my pricing to anyone - either a prospective buyer thinks it's a fair price or it isn't, and what the price was 5, 10 or 15 years ago is no longer relevant.
And, as someone above said, I'd rather folks not troll through my sales to see which designs sell the best. Etsy may label an item "Best Seller!" which is fine, and plenty enough in my book!
It is not possible to hide the number of sales, but you can make your sales private so the actual items are not shown. Go to Settings, Options, then scroll to the bottom of the page to "Sold Listings"
I also think the OP does not know what a production partner is.
Can we ask why you don't want the public to see it? Because its just one sale so far? Everyone has to start somewhere, if that's it.....???
There are people who like to buy from people with no or few sales. I was someone's first sale just a couple of weeks ago. We all started at 0.
I used to not show mine. But a few days ago they started showing them. I went in and changed it to the no, don’t show but they are still showing. So as for me, I can’t hide them.
