miscalculated star rating

I was at 94% for shipping rating yesterday and today I dropped down to 92%. I got an order today and checked the rating because I was so close to 95%. I send my order out the day I get the order or the next day. The only reason I am not 100% is because I had delivered some local orders so there was no tracking number. How does the rating go backwards like that?

Re: miscalculated star rating

There is another thread regarding reviews and someone noted reviews are missing. I just checked mine, and sure enough, reviews for this period that were there before are missing from the numbers. I suspect (hope) that Etsy is doing some housecleaning and the data will will be corrected in the next day or so.

It is odd ... but it isn't the first time I've seen Etsy's data wobble for a time.

Re: miscalculated star rating

@GlassyFields - Not only are reviews missing....they also have messed with the number of actual orders, and sales figures!

And really...why should we just accept their data "wobbling " as normal for a business?? As a retired research biologist, I have a hard time trusting a site where data is inconsistent! (and I have been here since 2010, so I have seen plenty!)

Re: miscalculated star rating

My missing review stats are back to normal. Another Etsy wobble. It's hard to imagine what causes this.

I can understand a delay in adding new data ... that would require real-time updates. But as someone who spent most of my working life in IT, I'm having a hard time understanding data that was previously there, disappearing for a period of time.

Re: miscalculated star rating

@GlassyFields - Exactly this! Data that was already there has disappeared. And I don't think others who have not seen it first hand understand what we are trying to express. This is not a matter of anyone not knowing how the system works. It is a matter of data that was present suddenly not being there. Orders, reviews, and monetary figures simply disappearing. Glad you understand.

UPDATE a minute ago...my missing monetary figures are back to what they should be but my # of orders is still off...hope it gets fixed as well by morning. Very strange day.

Re: miscalculated star rating

Today's order doesn't count until the ship-by date. It doesn't matter if you ship early. The metrics don't update until after the ship-by date.

As far as going backwards, did any of the local orders have an original ship-by date of yesterday or today by chance?

Re: miscalculated star rating

You will need 19 orders shipped on time and with tracking to offset each local order that you don't ship in order to stay within the required numbers for SS, for future reference.

@GlassyFields  They backed up to a previous version.

Re: miscalculated star rating

@NanaLetha  - Yes, I am seeing the same figures as halfway through April! Shows the same for the previous period as for this one, except that it isn't including sales/money that were there yesterday!

@NanaLetha

That makes total sense and would explain the data wobbles.

It would be nice if there was a little announcement ... "data may be temporarily incomplete while we conduct a backup" ... that would prevent a lot of angst, head scratching and distrust from those who notice.

@GlassyFields  They made a mistake so I doubt they will admit it.
