@ArkansasMineralsLLC - Etsy has recently made quite a few changes to their messaging system. It wouldn't hurt to check your spam box. At times there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why messages (& possibly entire threads??) are placed there.
I too had an odd occurrence last week. I sent a message as a buyer (my account is both buyer/shop) I can see my message & shop's listing link in my sent messages. But I also see the User Name & Shop Name I sent the message to with the notice "This buyer hasn't messaged you before" "Private Note +", "Labels, No labels added". This seemed odd to me. Why would I need to know that the shop owner is being advised I've never messaged them before?
Anyway, the shop has not messaged me back. I have to assume my message went thru, though where it ended up is unknown.
The only other thing I can think of is that the "sorting process" within a message thread has gone haywire & the back and forth conversations aren't being kept in date order?
