hello every one
i received a message from etsy telling me congratulation for my order , but the message in question was not in the the "from etsy" section it was only on my inbox messages.
after that i received a message from a person telling me that he already paid one of my items , he also ask me to click on a link a link where i need to verify my card to receive the money!
i just wanted to know if it is an actual order or it's a spam message?
It is a scam, put it in your spam folder.
You have no sales showing in your shop.
All your orders will appear in the orders & delivery section only, anyone telling you differently assume it is a scam
SCAM!! Do not reply, mark it as "spam" and do not give out any personal information. Etsy already has your email address, and will never ask for that in a message. Nor will they ask you to confirm any banking details through messages.
Did you respond to this message at all or click that link?
SCAM!!! Mark it as spam.
unfortunately yes!
actually i ask the suport on the same link (i am a new seller so everything is new for me so i clicked on the link) .. and they were telling me that it was a normal procedure so i putted my card information but they ask me after that to put information about the exact balance on my card .. this is when i though that was not normal and the support section may be fake
this is why i am asking on the etsy community platform
Run a virus / malware scan on whatever device you were using when you clicked that link. And contact your bank ASAP and disable whatever card you provided information for.
okey i will thank you
@wellnessoasisshop ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION.
Why should you have to verify YOUR CARD? You aren't the one paying - they are!
Common Sense goes a long way.
Why does a buyer have to know how much money is on YOUR CARD and YOUR BANK? It's their CARD AND BANK THAT WILL BE PAYING IF IT'S A LEGITIMATE SALE.
yes this is where a stopped .. i did not finish the process and then put the message on spam ..
When you get a REAL order it will be in the "Orders & Shipping" section of your inbox—even if it's still being processed.
If/when etsy needs to verify anything about your ID or finances, it will appear on your dashboard. The whole reason etsy created the "from etsy" section of your inbox is in response to all these scams, so you will KNOW that it's a scam. ALWAYS check there first.
okey thank you

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
thank you so much
Hey, sorry I like half fell for this. I got to the point where they asked for my date of birth but then I closed the tab after thinking it was weird. Should I still cancel my card or will it be fine?
