Good afternoon, I am working on my star seller badge for april month and I noticed my response rate is 75% because I did not replay to one message within 24 hours, the message that I did not replay was not from a customer it was actually send it to me as a buyer to letting me know about the delay of the item I did purchase, I would really appreciate if Etsy fix this issue. Thank you. Heidi from Bohemiangypsycats.
The Star Seller criteria is very clear - reply to ALL messages or mark as spam.
The system is working correctly. It does not distinguish between messages from buyers or sellers. You must respond to all first messages no matter who sends them. Even if someone sends you 10 separate but identical messages, you must respond to all.
@BohemianGypsycats: Unfortunately, there was not an "incorrect star seller badge calculation" and there is nothing to fix. As it says right on your Star Seller page and elsewhere, you need to reply to the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else. If it is SPAM then it should be marked as such.
The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.
"I would really appreciate if Etsy fix this issue" Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).
Be sure to read the Star Seller rules (shop manager > Star Seller tab ) ... it tells you everything you need to know, including the following ...
What messages count towards the message response rate?
Sorry but you needed to reply to the message. That is reply or spam to answer. Etsy is not going to take the time to read messages and I don't want them to except when necessary.
