Hello,
I didn't get the "message received" star because there was a buyer error. Leslie used two mailboxes, and I only used one to reply to her. This was a mistake. Could you correct this error by reassigning me the "message received" star?
Thank you for your reply.
Geneviève
@LaCavernedeGenevieve: Unfortunately Etsy has made it clear that they will not manually adjust Star Seller stats and will not consider it a "buyer error". A shop needs to reply to (or mark as SPAM) the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else.
Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy moderators do sometimes read and reply to posts).
how to contact them
There is no way to correct it, as Etsy sees it as "Seller Error". For Star Seller, the requirement is you respond to ALL new messages within 24 hours. Even if they are duplicate messages, even if they are spam, every new message requires an action on your part. You didn't respond, 24 hours have passed, you've been dinged. Any pursuit to try to get Etsy to change your stats will be fruitless.
Sorry, I know that isn't what you want to hear. There is a learning curve for Star Seller.
You would have to contact Etsy directly for help with your account. This is the forum for seller to help each other with questions, suggestions, ect.
Its my understanding that any message that comes to you, you have to respond to it whether reply via message or mark it as spam (if you do want to communicate with the sender of the message). What happened to you happens quiet often that customers or potential customers send messages using different profiles however, you have to reply to all (at least one response) within 24 hours of getting the message. I've had this happen several times and I usually copy and paste the same response to the messages just to be safe.
