I've never been able to use Chat. I seldom need to contact Etsy as Our House Rules, Help and the Forums usually provide me with answers I need. The rare times I do I use Contact us under Help. I look for 'I still need help' under a topic close and then send Etsy an email. The first reply back will be generic. So just reply to that email.
Since you are a new seller, I suspect you are getting scam messages? If so just spam them. If they are asking or saying they need your email to process order that is a scam.
