e6000 glue removed from both my shops

So tubes of e6000 glue were removed from both of my shops and the email said

"Our internal systems have flagged one or more of your listings as a potentially recalled item, which are prohibited on Etsy under our Prohibited Items Policy."

But when i look i cannot see any information that that product has been recalled anywhere and it is sold pretty much everywhere including on etsy!

Anyone else have this problem?

Shipping glue is problematic.  Are you following the guidelines?  They need to be shipped as hazardous material.

I don't find any recall and nothing in prohibited that would say this could not be sold on Etsy.

I would contact Etsy and ask for clarification.  It might take some doing though.

I gave up using e6000 because it is a dangerous glue.  The fumes from even a small amount is terrible.

Re: e6000 glue removed from both my shops

Was it the same exact glue that was removed in your other shop?

policy voilations and i cant figure out why! - Welcome to the Etsy Community

Was 'potentially' bolded in Etsy's email or did you bold it for your OP?

Did you look thru the other prohibited examples on the Policy list's reasons for removal?   Maybe it wasn't actually recalled, but it's considered '3. Dangerous'?  Is that type of glue sometimes used for another reason besides how it's meant to be used?

Potentially was bolded  by Etsy. I just copied and pasted that from my conversation!

Aside from the possible prohibition, why are you selling the same thing in two shops? That’s not allowed.

You can sell the same thing in two shops as long as the listing is different. I sell metal jewelry supplies in store store and plastic in the other. Glue is a supply that would be used in both stores so I offer it in both

I could not find any recalls issued by the manufacturer of E6000. What I did find is there are problems with counterfeit formulas from some sellers. Not sure the claim is proven but the doubt is out there. So it brings to mind whether you listed the proper warning.

Most suppliers have something like this:

Safety Information (required use):
This adhesive contains industrial-strength chemicals. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged skin contact and do not inhale fumes. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Not intended for children. Follow all manufacturer instructions and warnings included with the product.

California Prop 65 Notice:
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including toluene, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

That's really not worth it.

@HappyKawaiiSupplies : Based on other posts, it appears that sometimes Etsy's deactivation notifications are vague or wrong. It is also possible that your listing contained something which triggered a deactivation that the other listings (which are still up) do not contain or those listings just have not been checked yet by the bot.

I would contest that at least to get the ding removed from my shop.  Then I might sell it elsewhere so it doesn't get a false flag again.

I got an email that E6000 I bought quite a while back from you on etsy was recalled, yet the link gave no actual information and its search yielded no results. I'm pretty sure it's an error, I did see a vape pen with it in the name though.

It says "may have been" recalled in the customer email too.

Definitely reach out to etsy because it seems erroneous.

Re: e6000 glue removed from both my shops

Hello!
The E6000 glue has been forbidden in multiple countries because of some toxic ingredients. So maybe that includes countries you are selling to. Maybe you could replace it with E6000 plus. I haven't tried it personally, as when it was banned, I replaced it with two-component glue.

Re: e6000 glue removed from both my shops

@HappyKawaiiSupplies I think its because the EPA is rolling out a ban on the solvent in E6000, perchloroethylene: https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2024-12/pce-fact-sheet_english.pdf

The fact sheet says distribution for consumer use will be prohibited by 2027. I'd expect that E6000 is working on a reformulation right now - but even if so, it could be that Etsy will continue to sweep and remove it since they won't know if its the new kind or the old kind for sale.

They did: the new version is the E6000 Plus. With this version it's still recommended not to inhale the vapors but they don't have cancer agents anymore

Never mind. It's in the process of being banned so nothing I said even matters.
