Customer recently made an inquiry about an item in my shop that she said is out of stock. I was surprised because the item is clearly not out of stock & I had plenty of inventory of the item. I even checked my listing just to make sure that quantity is not set to zero. Now I'm wondering if this is what other customers are seeing when they are looking at my listing and thus nobody is ordering. Did Etsy have a glitch and did this to my listing, or certain customer locations see this under my listing? I'm worried if this is the case. Anybody encountered this kind of issue before?
This is not anything I've heard about yet, but it wouldn't surprise me with all the glitches that characterize Etsy these days. The site is a mess right now.
Two things I have heard about:
Etsy is sending emails to people who have an item in their cart/favorites when it sells out. The customer who bought the item also gets that email, confusing them about whether their order went through or not.
Sold items are regularly showing up in Google Search, and it could be your customer was looking at an archived listing that at that point in time WAS sold out.
This same exact thing is currently happening to us with one of our products. We have the quantity in stock set as (1) and it is telling our customer that it is out of stock when she goes to purchase it. I am having to make this person a custom listing to get around this weird glitch.
I have the same thing happening.
