cropping a photo isn't working

Cropping a photo is the only editing I need to do on Etsy, and it doesn't seem to work. I found the area where this can be done.  It's in the transform area in the new editing tool.   Has anyone been able to crop their photos?  And if so, how did you get this to function?  I've been trying to do it in a square format.  I also attempted to use the custom option without success.  I'm using my computer.  I don't work on an app.

Me too.  I don't know if there is a way to crop any more - just see the different box shapes to choose from, but not the actual manual crop option.  I liked the old one, as it was SO easy, fast, and precise.

@TheCrimsonBeetle It appears a new size can be chosen for the shapes.  But, there's no visual to know how a chosen size looks.  But, even this option is not working.

Up until a couple of days ago there was a little "Crop" icon in the lower right corner of a photo when I uploaded it, and I could click that, and have the option to crop the photo, one edge at a time. Loved it! But now, there is a little pen icon where the crop icon used to be, and clicking that takes me to a blank white page, empty and sad. 
If anyone has any idea how to crop photos now, or if this is just a glitch that will soon be resolved, please let me know. Thanks.

I am having the same problem... just takes me to a blank page. I lost my entire listing 2x until I saved in drafts thinking I could crop from there but the same thing happened, just took me to a blank page. I published my listing without cropping thinking I go in after to crop them but it was the same issue again. It's very frustrating!

zooming isn't working for me anymore as well.

It's always shoved to one side.

I first cut the photo a little, them zoomed, and I had to repeat the zooming, because it didn't stick.

@AnnaleasFinest Thanks Anna!  It seems like Etsy is having some problems with their programs.

Now, the thumbnail can't be cropped. Yesterday it worked.  Today it doesn't.   Etsy is continuing to get more difficult and time-consuming to work with.  Sigh.....

I was able to pick a corner or side and reduce the photo in the transform section. I didn't select a shape or size, just moved the corner of the photo in. They have been working on several things the last few days and it works and then doesn't work.

I hadn't had the new editing tools until today. And when I click the edit button, I also just get a blank white screen. I'm used to every "improvement" being an UNimprovement or a broken new feature. And more clicks. Always more clicks.

I stopped using the crop & thumbnail tool last year when using it seemed to be the source of shop images displaying wonky for a bit.

The thumbnail is now "somewhat" working.  But, it is taking up to 6 saves and repeated editing to make it save.  I've reached out to Etsy support and they opened a ticket.  I'm hoping for some help since this new editing system does not work.  @CanningCrafts, I agree.

It seems to have worked for a brief moment.  The thumbnail is no longer working.  I'm off to utilize another site for the time being. I'll check back with Etsy another time.  Hopefully Etsy can fix these problems.

I don't understand how this is a constant problem with the thumbnail resizing. Why does it work sometimes and not others? I too have had this issue, sometimes if I do it over and over it will "stick". Just frustrating.

Oh it’s absolutely horrible and more steps involved, ridiculous. Anyway, I used custom and dragged the corners in. Ensure you save frequently as I have lost my edits lots of times.
