Customers can pull up my shop by searching for the name while they are using a laptop.  However, when they are using a cell phone my name will not come up.  What did I do wrong when I set up the shop and what do I need to do to correct this?

Just tried REOwoodwork.etsy.com  it came right up

Did you pull up on a cell phone.  This weekend it would not come up on my sisters and is would not come up on mine.  I will try again to see if a message I sent to Etsy fixed the problem.  Thanks.

Yes on iPhone are you putting just the name or .etsy.com after? Are you using the app or browser?

That is strange.  I just tried again and it did not come up.  I was able to pull up my friends store by using her shop name but not mine.

Thank you for your reply.  If I go to the Etsy website and type in reowoodwork in the search field, it will pull it up while on the laptop but not on the cell phone.  If I go to google and type in REOwoodwork.etsy.com on the cell phone or on the laptop it will pull up my shop.

@REOWoodwork: When you say "cell phone" do mean an Etsy app or via a browser? If it is an app, there are many reports of issues with the apps. Many issues seem to be related to how and when the Etsy Apps synchronize or don't - that is why it sometimes works to log out and then log back in or delete and reinstall the app. These actions appear to force the app to get fresh data.

Maybe you mean a web search on mobile?  I'm on my android now, and Googled Reowoodword etsy,  and ir didn't show up.  Typing in your shop on the Biyer app works.

If you or on a cell phone and go to google, type in Etsy.  Etsy will come up.  Then if you type in reowoodwork in the search field and hit enter, the shop name doesnt come up.  If you are on a lap top and do the exact same thing, the shop name will come up.  This has happened on 2 different phones, one for sure was an Apple, I am not sure of the other but I think that was an Apple also.  Thanks everyone for the replies, I am new to this and I am not sure what I have done wrong.

I just tried on my Android phone, plus an Android tablet and my Windows laptop.  On all three (when using a browser to view Etsy) it worked the same way - I started to type your shop name and the option to "find shop names containing reowood.." came up for me to click.

This might be a stupid question but does the person need to download the etsy app first before they can pull up by the store name.

You only need to download the app if you want to use it. I have never used the app and I have been here since before it came out.

You should turn up anyplace as "did you mean the SHOP XYZ" under the search bar but unless you are using a shop name as a tag it won't show your items in search by your shop name. I don't worry too much about tagging my shop name..the words hope and joy are in tons of other searches and I'd probably be buried anyways.

I am confused, why would it show up on some peoples phones but not others, and why would it show up on laptops?  If the name is tagged or not tagged wouldnt it be consistent across the board.

I am doing it as url not just the name, that is the way it comes up. with .etsy.com on the end.

If you want your shop to come up in Etsy searches without clicking the "Did you mean the shop REOWoodwork?" tiny text you'll need to include your shop name in your tags.

It helps if you add whether you are using the app or not. I used the search on Etsy, the box asked if it’s a shop and I clicked on that, and your shop came up. I do not use the app and I looked on both my iPad and iPhone.

Thanks everyone, I did upload the Etsy app to my phone, then I went to google, typed the name in the search field and it did come up.  On any phones we tried the same thing without uploading the Etsy app it did not come up.
