cant finish order of my test product

hello

i am trying to create test order, so i can then get order information with API.

i have created test product listed at digital with price 0.17.

product has active status.

i am trying to buy it from my different account.

i get to "Please confirm and submit your order" page, where i enter details and then i want to pay, so i click on pay now.

then i see "hold tight , we are submitting your order" popup window, which then dissapear

i dont see any error, i am again on "Please confirm and submit your order"  page.

what i am doing wrong ?

i tried to pay by credit card and also paypal, both didnt work for me.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

@michaltest  It's possible your IP address is getting flagged by Etsy - you can't buy from yourself, even as a "test" - could get your whole shop shut down.

* I really don't know anything about API - so maybe you need to contact Etsy Support

Re: cant finish order of my test product

@michaltest Not a good idea to buy from yourself even if it is a test as you say.  Etsy deeply resents sellers doing so and they have been known to shut down shops for it.

Have a friend buy it for you and reminburse them but that too can run into the same problem if they leave a review.

You really just can't test.

Is Michaeltest really the name of your shop or did you start this shop just to test?  Not a good idea to do so.  Etsy is not designed for that.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

Your product is in 5 carts already, so maybe one of those people will buy (unless they're all your accounts.)
We don't get to do test orders.

There is no such thing as "test orders" on Etsy. Don't try buying from your self.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

you are blocked from buying from yourself. It is akin to shilling...so to avoid people showing 'lots' of sales when there was none.

No one wants to start with zero, but everyone did.

If you have concerns after you get a valid order, then you can trouble shoot. If any/all of these 5 carts are yours...delete them.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

i dont want to buy from myself, but what is the other way of doing a test order please ?

i will then later connect to my etsy shop via API, to get information about orders.

but to test this functionality, so to get orders via API, i first need some orders to exist under my store,

how can i then do that if i shouldnt buy my test product from myself please ?

i cant find any information about this

thanks

Read the replies here. @BagmakerSupply gave you the link for testing.

@michaltest    Have you read https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/api-testing-policy/169130941112 ?  It will tell you how to test your API.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

@Adorabilities @BagmakerSupply yes i have read that and there isnt written anything about how to make a test order.

i am developer who want to connect to etsy shop to get order informations about orders via API.

i have created app, i am successfully connected, i am able to publish listings via API.

on that link isnt written anything about how to test orders, obviously orders must first exist , then i can get them via API.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

@michaltest  It appears all you want to do is make a test order, and for that there are two methods:

  1. Navigate to Etsy from a PC/mobile device that has never before connected to Etsy (so there is no chance that Etsy will flag the order as coming from the IP address used for any other accounts).  buy the item then check out as Guest. Or...
  2. Ask a friend to make the purchase for you. Again, they can do this as a guest.

Either method works, or at least did a while back.  Who knows what changes have been made.

Re: cant finish order of my test product

@ArtDollsbyJD  :  michaeltest did exactly the RIGHT thing - per https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/api-testing-policy/169130941112 'Include "test" in your shop name if your shop is being used exclusively for testing. Otherwise, please add "test" to the title or description of any listings created for testing purposes.'
