Not exactly the same thing, but there's a similar thread open regarding renewing sold out listings...

Something messed up in the rollout of adding Ground Advantage to the shipping options.  In my case, if I look at the shipping profile for the listing, there is no primary shipping method selected anymore. And without a primary shipping method, I can't renew the listing.  But I also can't fix the shipping, no matter what I select I get an error that says "We Could Not Update Your Profile."   So for now, I can't renew sold out listings, I can't update any existing listing tied to that shipping profile (almost all of them), and I can't fix the shipping profile.  I figured it was a sign to go do something else for a few hours and see if it has been fixed later today.

I tried just plain Renew first, then go back and edit and make changes to the new listing.  Rechecked shipping profile at that time.  Got the listing up.

I renewed a sold out listing and etsy removed the listing saying it violated their policy! They are investigating it but until then I’m just hanging on for them to sort it out. 
I’ve seen multiple listing issues in the last couple of days so I think they are doing something with the system which is it screwing up and causing havoc.

We just went into our shipping profile- somehow the Ground Advantage toggle was wiped for some reason during the update.  We had to choose it all over again. This clears the red  update needed banner.
