I had a spike of over 1,000 views last night at 2am, with no traffic source even though it is showing direct traffic. It wasn’t just one listing either, but pretty much every item in my shop had at least one view or more during this time.

NO, I was not featured

NO, I did not go viral

YES, this has to be bots and is going to give my conversion rate a hit.

Etsy usually manages to strip out most if not all bot views

It doesn't happen immediately but can happen any time upto 24-48 hours after the event so don't panic yet

I have been open since 2011 and have yet to see them back any view stats away once they have posted.  The lag of the new stat system is to filter them before they show on our end.  Somehow there are bots getting through their filters

This happened to me a LOT at one point. Being the behavior analyst that I am, I took data and did validity checks LOL. It all balanced out by 48-72 hours every single time. It didn’t really seem to correlate with any dramatic change in my shop and my overall stats weren’t really affected. I think this is just part of being on any platform that has automated processes.

This is happening to me but my account is not adjusting at all. My conversion rate has gone from 2.2% down to .03%.

Same. It's been happening in my shop since July. My direct views are 3 times as high as they previously were, with no clue as to why. I'll get 2 large spikes every day for no reason and they do NOT adjust. It seemed to be fixed for about a week at the end of last month, but it has started again and my conversion rate is 0.8% when it used to be over 4%.

That’s exactly what’s happening to me typically at 2am and then around 5pm again and it’s been getting worse lately. I am at such a loss of what to do and Etsy support has been no help

My sales were down 12% in August and 16% in September and that is unusual. I've seen an increase every month this year until this problem started. In the last 30 days, my visits have increased 111%, it's primarily direct traffic, which is up 372%. As I mentioned, those direct traffic views come in huge spikes twice a day.

The traffic source breakdown is not helpful to determine where the visits come from .. it's not social media and I don't do anything else that would make large spikes in views.

It's discouraging because it's not like it's something I can fix or control.

That’s exactly what’s happening with me too it’s so frustrating especially with Q4 being here

I checked my stats twice today...  First thing this morning it showed 1,000 views but normal stats for visits and only 1 visit. The views took place at 2am today. An hour ago I have a few additional views but a spike of 996 visits after an update. Most came from FB and Google.. The visits were for mostly sold items going all the way back to 2007...
