My Etsy shop is telling customers that "all payment methods for this shop are temporarily unavailable". I've looked through all my setting and my bank account and billing has been verified so I'm not sure what else it could be. I've reached out to the chat, but they just said that it's been reported to the engineering team and there's no estimated timeframe for when this will be resolved. Anyone know what else I could try to get this resolved?
I was able to get it fixed. I reached out to the chat as well as submitted a ticket at https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000108008
It took about 10 days and I had to go through about 5 different support people. Attaching photos showing what customers are seeing helps because it is a common scam that someone will message you that with a link to fix it.
If your US bank account and ID were verified then it is most likely a glitch, All you can do is wait for Etsy to fix it.
Any updates for you? I still have this issue since opening my shop near the beginning of April.
I have the same problem - the Etsy support people are explaining that I have to make a sale first, which of course I can’t because no payment can be made. It’s super confusing 🫤
“For new shops, the option to verify your bank account only appears after your first sale, but buyers cannot complete a purchase until payment methods are enabled—so unfortunately, there is no alternative process to bypass this requirement. This means your shop cannot accept orders until the payment methods are available, which will only happen once the bank verification process is triggered after your first sale. I understand this is confusing, but this is the current setup for new shops.“
@Studio411Designs: Sadly the "answer" that support gave you has all the hallmarks of an artificial intelligence (AI) hallucination when the AI cannot find an actual response.
The process on Etsy in the past appeared to be that they would verify enough information to get a shop open and selling - then after the first sale they would complete whatever verifications they were legally required to do.

connected to someone through chat support and they fixed the issue.
I waited a month for someone to fix it and never got a response, going direct to chat support just resolved it for me.
