I didn't get star seller for several months because I was falsely accused of not responding to customers within 24 hours. There has NEVER been a time that I dif not respond to an actual customer within a 24 hour period. There has RARELY been a time when it has taken me more than a couple of hours because the messages come through on my phone which is always with me so unless it's the middle of the night, I respond right away. And honestly, if the phone wakes me up in the middle of the night, I respond. Usually within minutes. So finally I got star seller and all was well for a couple of months. Then this month I noticed my response time was down from 100% to 98%. Then 95%. Now 92%. But when I download the spreadsheet it shows two messages each time. So how does that work? And FYI, one was on the 16th and I responded on the 16th and one was on the 17th and I responded on the 17th. So if that isn't within 24 hours then I am just stupid. Honestly I don't give two shakes about star seller. I gauge my success by my customers. Especially my repeat customers. I just don't care for my integrity to be questioned. So honestly, I wish there was a way to opt out of the star seller program because I'm over it and I don't even want to see the stats anymore. To be perfectly honest when I see the deception it just makes my blood boil. I ALWAYS respond in MUCH LESS than 24 hours so whatever little glitch you have in your system needs to be looked at and honestly, I think the whole program should just be scrapped. Most of the sellers I interact with don't care about it anyway. What is the point of it? Thank you for your consideration in this absolutely frustrating situation.
Are you looking at the tab for the Current period, or for the Last Period (which has just ended)?
We are now into the new period and the Current figures now reflect stats from Feb-April.
Also, it isn't just byer messages you must respond to within 24 hrs, ALL new messages count, even if they are from other sellers, or duplicates.
An Opt Out is not required, simply ignore the badge requirements and don't click on that tab.
I'm confused. You have the star this month.
“if the phone wakes me up in the middle of the night, I respond. Usually within minutes”
Obviously you’re worried about the SSR!
„And honestly, if the phone wakes me up in the middle of the night, I respond. Usually within minutes.“
There’s absolutely no need to let a program disturb your precious sleep. Auto-reply is a great tool.
Familiarize yourself with all the options provided by Etsy and use them to meet the criteria.
you have the message star for this month, which means Jan-March was at least 95%
when 1st April came, the "current" stats only show Feb, March, and April-to-date, so all of Jan's went, and you don't have many in April yet
which is why the rate dropped if you had a couple that show not replying to in time.
The app sometimes has problems, as does replying from an e-mail.
make sure you use a browser, and log into etsy.
....
and I would never let etsy wake me up in the middle of the night, especially as you say you don't care about star seller
I'm sorry if this is confusing. I didn't realize it was a community forum. I thought I was contacting actual Etsy support and was giving "feedback" because it very much gets under my skin that I am continuously being told I don't respond to my customers on time when I have only not responded to someone once and it wasn't a customer, it was someone trying to sell me something. I don't care if I have star seller. I care that I'm being told I'm not providing customer service when I very much am. And I was trying to let Etsy know that there is something wrong with their tracking system but apparently Etsy support doesn't really exist? So this is an unfortunate error and if I could figure out how to delete it I would. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not looking for advice, I am trying to tell Etsy that their spreadsheet is wrong and however they collect the data is flawed and I am highly offended by the insinuation that I'm not providing acceptable customer service because I am.
The trouble with the message compliance, is that any message you receive, from anyone, customer or NOT, has to be replied to. You can send not customer messages to spam if you want and that takes them out of the report. I'm sorry this happened to you.
