And yes, @Moderator, this IS a technical issue....so please don't move this thread!
Again today, EVERY SINGLE VIEWED ITEM is a Sold Out piece, some from over 10 years ago!
What the #$$%% is going on? And yes, I know it is probably a glitch, but I am worn out from glitches here being accepted as part of the routine!
Anyone else seeing this like yesterday again?
@timelapse Etsy has only had the site for 19 years or so. They need time to figure it out. Give them a break. lol.
Thanks for the morning chuckle!
It seems to more they try to "improve the site", the worst it gets.......so annoying and frustrating!
I use google images quite a bit to research vintage prices. Etsy items often feature there - and more than half are already sold. Maybe something @thatregina could flag with the appropriate team - if you want to pay Google to appear on their site it would be a great idea if the items you feature are actually for sale. Otherwise you are wasting those precious advertising funds on posting pretty pictures.
@DigTheDesign Hi, When you Tag someone (as you did thatregina), their name must be underlined, otherwise they won't see it. When you type the "at" symbol, then start typing their name, a drop down menu should show. From that drop down, you select the name, and it will be underlined (like a link). So they will see the Tag. I did it lower in this Thread.
2 out of 10- sold items. I do not have visible solds so it is Google or maybe Pinterest but nothing I pinned myself.
@hopeandjoystudios - my solds are private too, and I am well aware of the ways people can still see them. Occasionally they show up, but for 2 days now it has been EVERYTHING! Up to 50-100 sold outs with no current items showing viewed. And others were having the same issue yesterday as well.
Well that's not right... I didn't realize you meant THAT many!
Sometimes if it is an odd thing you get hits for years. I am still getting them on a Hope Silver Co. Art Nouveau hand mirror that I could find little about the company and punted on the price. Also repeat convos about one of those multi chalk holders for making lines or music staffs on chalk boards. Sold both over 12 years ago.
not the normal issue. not an occasional sold out.
Yes, but that's normal. This is not.
"Solds" private? Not totally...Anyone can go and see those sold items that have reviews/feedback for them.
Not really the same thing.
Yep. Happening again today for me too. Third day in a row. My views are way up, but the very large majority of them are of sold items. Many go back years. As @timelapse said, it's normal to get a few views of sold items every day, but not all or most views. This seems to be happening to vintage sellers.
This is more than just an annoying issue. It has a negative impact on conversion rates.
Here's the other thread about it:
https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Stats-today-gone-bonkers/m-p/147213659#M893494
@MoonstruckCottage - Just checked yesterday's stats.
82 views/ 72 visits/ 0 were active listings, everything viewed was a sold out
Had 1 sale...you can imagine what the conversion rate was!
Yesterday:
Views: 233 (very high for my small shop.)
Active Listing Views: 26
Sold Listing Views: 207
So 89% of my views yesterday were of sold items. Not normal.
Is it just me or is common sense been thrown out the window? you see a problem fix it once and for all, like the sold items, why wouldn't they create a program that would delete sold items after their sold???? and don't tell me its impossible because there in other places too. If you sell something on Facebook for example, you delete it it gives you the opportunity to delete them on all other pages, so it can be done., And in my prior life, before Etsy I worked in the banking industry, in the Acquisitions and Mergers department and we created programs daily for every single action the bank needed to do with accounts, so it can be done by a programmer, I don't think Etsy has them anymore, cost to much to pay them, Bots and AI are much cheaper, pretty poor way to look at it, but hey that's what happening.
I just came back from checking my Stats. I haven't experienced this, but it certainly is odd.
@thatregina Could you please assist, or forward this to someone who can. Thank You in advance.
I didn’t know we could see what they viewed, thanks for this information. So I checked and a lot of my older sold pieces are also getting views. I don’t mind quite so much because hopefully they might go look at some newer ones, but they are not looking at my better pieces it seems, so they may not want to!
That is so strange. I'm not seeing it in my shop but then I'm hardly getting any views at all.
Every day some new glitsch/bug or whatever you want to call it.
You don't want to know what I call it!
This is still happening in my shop today. Very puzzling and annoying. But I'm having a nice walk down memory lane while I look at all my sold listing views in Stats. Grrr.
same here again....
