Years on etsy….

Many shops have the wrong year. And I doubt Etsy will fix it.

On the one hand, I get that it's something buyers won't care about & only a minority of sellers are affected but on the other hand "can't count past 14" jarrs badly with Etsy's messaging about how advanced its algorithms & AI is; not to mention how rudimentary maths is quite important in calculating tax deductions, seller fees, CPC ad auctions - yet counting is apparently so tricky

@feltplanet  You're lucky it's only one thing wrong with your shop. My shop is a complete mess right now. Ongoing coding errors are crippling my sales. I even received a pop-up in my dashboard a couple weeks ago saying that Etsy will "tell me what to sell"!  I had to click "Got It" to get rid of the notice, as if I was agreeing to it.   As for the years in business, my year changed from 10 to 11 over time, so maybe yours will update at some point.

I agree - they will more than likely not address this.  I would try to focus your energy on something else in your control....not being "fresh" just realistic lol

I just finished speaking with an Etsy Customer service person.  She clearly was just saying what ever came to her mind after a quick search.  She told me that I didn't start selling until 14 years ago is why it's showing 14 years, even though I'd been on Etsy since 2007.  So I showed her reviews for sales in 2007 then she said well maybe you took a break at some point... and I said nope never longer than a couple months for the holidays over a year period.
She said to just place a message in my shop about how long I'd been on Etsy and I told her that would appear that I was lying considering the "14" years in the top banner of my store.
Don't hold your breath.  They really don't care I don't think.  To them it's not important.  It doesn't help them in any way and Etsy has just turned into another greedy site to post items for sale and they don't care about us at all.  That is how I think and feel.

Etsy just congratulated me on my dashboard for hitting 6k sales...They are 1k behind, I just hit 7k. So sounds like there are inaccuracies all around
