Years on Etsy is incorrect

Hi all!

Have you noticed that Etsy has reconfigured the stats at the top of each of our shop pages (reviews, sales, years on Etsy)? I've been selling here since 2008. Mine now says that I have 14 years on Etsy. Last time I checked, 2025 minus 2008 is 17...

Anyone else have that issue?

Many others have posted the same thing. Evidently math is not Etsy's forte.

I believe this is when ETSY started reporting the 1099 to sellers (2014) to the IRS.  Obama bill was $20,000 sales or 200 transactions

Every shop that opened before 2011 is showing the same 14 years on the top of our shop home pages.  Our correct year appears in the About section further down the page.

I got a congratulatory email from Etsy  for my many years selling here and they got pretty much everything wrong - the number of years, sales, hearts, etc were all incorrect.

Apparently, Etsy isn't including the years before 2010 for some reason. Many sellers have mentioned this on other threads. I don't know why Etsy is doing this.

Hi I just noticed the same with my shop. I have been selling on Etsy since 2007. Mine "should" say that I have been selling on here for 18 years (which, I am very proud of). But it says that I have been on Etsy for 14 years, as well. 

What is going on? Are they just saying that all of us have been on here for the same amount of time? 14 years?? Because that is incorrect.

I just noticed a shop that started the same time I did and one of us has been here 8 years and the other 9.

Yes, I just noticed this. We have been on Etsy for 16 years and 8 months - but on our shop it now says 14 years.  Is there another thread going that anyone knows about that is getting any attention? Thanks!

Another Seller (TheOldBarnDoor) noticed that the highest number Etsy is posting is 14, which of course is inaccurate for those who have been here longer.

Been here for 15 years, but it says 14. I've seen other shops with different figures other than 14. It's all messed up.

I have been here since 2007 which is 18 years. If Etsy is celebrating 20 years how did they do it if no one has been here longer than 14 years given that is maximum years we are allotted ? 

I would have thought long term sellers ought to be applauded and highlighted for their hard work and efforts that helped Etsy to grow.

I also noticed that when Etsy ran this update to reconfigured the stats at the top of each of our shop pages they have also reset the renewal options for listings from manual to auto, so might be worth checking this on your shop if you always had it set to manual. It's not the first time they have carried out this Grift hidden in an update ;(
