I live in Australia and have had three orders come through that have all been to the US, however they are being charged the Australia pricing and not the Everywhere else pricing?
For example - He's Here / She's Here sign, I charge $45 AUD and $70 AUD (to include shipping costs as well) and the US are getting the Australian prices?
Is this something that is happening to anyone else, how do I prevent this from happening?
Someone has just ordered a large sign and the shipping costs will be at least $120 out of my pocket? Not including the extra insurances that are required with the trip overseas.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I'd cancel that order (which will refund them) and explain that Etsy has a pricing glitch that is under-charging your customers, which is the truth. The global pricing slider has been malfunctioning for a long time now (over a year I think?) As an Australian I stopped using it. I doubt Etsy's going to fix it any time soon, they probably figure we'll either take less profit to access the US market, or we'll just charge whatever we need for postage.
Generally when I send to the US, I hide $15 worth of shipping in the price and charge that price to everyone. Then I do free ship for AU (because most of what I send here will cost that) and charge the US buyers $15-20 for ship. That's only about usd10-15 to them and it's palatable. Contrary to what Etsy's nightmares tell them, most US buyers do not expect free or cheap shipping from overseas.
Amazing, thank you so much for that! I offer such a different variety in sizes in my products. A coaster that is 105mm round and a sign that is 980mm x 590mm, which makes it challenging to include the costs. Its so wild it has been working really well and then all of the sudden it changes and stops working. Especially if this is glitch that's been happening.
What a dream tool to have as sellers to combat International orders - when working.
I did contact Etsy Support and they adivsed to remove the domestic and global shipping - publish listing - re-add the pricing. However, there is no way to check if this is working until someone places an order.
@LivingonTrend: "Is this something that is happening to anyone else ..." Yes, https://community.etsy.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=false&f...
Apparently Etsy is refunding the to the seller any shortage.
