Hi there, I am starting a new Etsy shop and had one inactive listing in my account. (I needed to add a listing to open my shop but I wasn't ready to sell quite yet). I just got billed $0.20 by Etsy. When I go to my Monthly Statement, the $0.20 is only listed under “All Activities”. Under “Type” it says “Payment” and under “Fee and tax” it says $0.20. Can anyone explain what this fee is for?
You were charged when you made the listing. You did not pay at that time. You receive the bill for the amount due at the beginning of the next month, which is now. You must pay on or before the 15th.
Did you make a listing and then deactivate it? If so, Etsy charged for the listing.
I did make a listing and deactivate it 1 month ago and Etsy charged me $0.20 at that time. They just charged me another $0.20 and the listing is still inactive.. Do they charge every month, for every listing, even if it's an inactive listing?
Apparently So. Very Deceptive.
Usually a listing last for 3 months before it expires or auto renews. If its not active it will just expire. Sounds like you should contact Etsy support

Thank you everyone!
I just discovered this myself, that Etsy charges for listings that are "inactive" and when you try to inquire about this they will not answer as to why they do this. Very deceptive practice.
