I have 3 listings that are active in my shop today (13th May 2023) but it says they are expiring 01 April 2023! I have updated one, but it still says that date. I tried changing it to automatic renewal and back to manual, but it still says this date. I deactivated one as I am no longer making it. What's going on - looking at the date, is it an April Fools joke?
Has to be a bug, but I like it when listings get skipped. It's like free days for a listing. I have some listings that were supposed to expire Feb 29th the last year there was a Feb 29th. These listings have discovered the secret to eternal life apparently.
@GlassyFields Next year has Feb 29th, maybe they'll expire then lol
It's very strange - not noticed it before! I'll just have to keep an eye on it I guess!

Oh I like the idea of eternal life for a listing! I've never noticed this before! I'll have to remember to list on Feb 29th next year!
I've stated this for months and had issues reported since Dec 2. Currently over half my listings are live but renew date in the past. Last request ignored. Engineering was supposedly working on it months ago. I've told people sort listings by expiring soonest and you'll see.
I wish I could get half my listings to last forever. It would make having a healthy number of listings much more economical.
I have noticed that listings often expire a couple days after their expiration date.

I have 28 out of 80 listing that should have expired. The oldest goes back to 4/7/2022 and it would be a few more except I did renew them for the hell of it. I use to renew items in the morning that they were to expire, now I just wait to see if they actually do expire before renewing. I did find that if I de-active a should be expired listing, I do have to pay for the renewal to re-activate.
I am assuming that many sellers have this same issue (blessing LOL) , it should be causing Etsy to loss some money based on all the items that are listed and not truly renewing site wide. Oh well their loss and my win since sale are in the tank anyway. Off to have a fun evening.
Add me to the list.
Not that I mind free listings, but I have SEVEN PAGES that should have expired. A few go back to 2022?!?!? but it seems to have started in February.
There is no correlation to end of the month. Even auto renew dates are not changing.
I didn't look closely at my bill because I do daily randomly do renewals, but I have not been charged for any of these items either. It's not like I want to pay for them all at once now, because this was not my mistake!!.....but I do not like it when things are not working properly in my account and I worry it is affecting my items in search or any sales that I run.
This has been reported for months. Someone in June or July(?) said they suddenly reset to the correct expiration date and they got charged back listing fees all at once for the listings that didn't expire..so be ready for that!
THIS^^^^
These are not free listings (though they should be since it is Etsy's mistake).
Etsy will go back and charge you lump sum for all those listings that weren't charged at the proper time.
This can have two very negative consequences. First, you get hit with a large fee bill that you might not have the money to cover at the moment. Second, once they catch it, all those listings will have the same expiration date if they were auto renew, or you will have an empty shop if they were manual renew. So instead of your listings being spread out and expiring in succession, your shop now shows huge traffic on one day, and little or no shop involvement for weeks or months afterward. So much for all that work you did trying to space out listings!
YEP ME! Still fighting with them. Started Dec 2/22 telling them and others that dates were in the past. I had no idea not being charged but got comments I should be quiet and appreciate it! No one listened to me. I told others to sort your listings by "SOONEST to EXPIRE". I sent screenshots multiple times trying to show them, even highlighting areas and also that I found those dated in the past will not add to my sale and it was Christmas coming. I lost sales as nothing was done. I was charged for almost 600 listings at once July 16 and now have almost 600 expiring Oct 16 which they wont fix or do anything! No free listings or refund for trying to correct over and over for 7 months. The big deal a couple days ago they gave me 50 listings ($10) big deal and even had one try to tell me they must have all been put online same day LOLOL Not funny. I told them I'm not going to select a few each day and pay for listings early either so they don't all come up at once! Etsy's Fault! They say move it to manual renew! Sickening right? So fast forward to today. I now have 38 listings dated from June 20 to July 19! I added to my support ticket as I told them DO NOT CLOSE today stating that as well 552 out of 783 listings are all OCT 16 still! I'm exhausted with waiting and explaining over and over. Hours putting info together long ago to help get it solved sooner than later.
One line in latest reply; Listings that were already past their expiry date, will eventually expired on it own at a later date. Which is also one factor why it's expiration date becomes the same as other listings or changes. WTH?
Seriously am I being PUNKED? Disgusting and they should be embarrassed and the reason you get no where with seller support!
Saga continues! Unless they close the ticket unresolved AGAIN.
@dayspringcollectible EXACTLY! Thank you and I have tried since Dec 2/22 to have this fixed only to be disgusted with them.
I figured out how to reset them after some expired listings were staying active, some after 2+ years. I put my shop on vacation mode overnight twice in one week. So turn vaca mode on, turn off next day, turn on vaca mode again and then turn it back on. All those weird confusing listings from 2022 went into my expired folder. Although it was nice having some free listings up for a while, it was also very confusing for what I had in stock. Now I have more control again.
