What's up with OLD messages popping up

I needed to message one of my Team Members and when I clicked on their CONTACT button a message from over a year ago popped up.  

What is that all about??? Its truly STUPID. Are we having ANOTHER Etsy glitch or is this STUPID practice going to be permanent?

Hopefully it's not permanent and the coders come to their senses.

It's etsy "new and improved" messaging,

linking them altogether,... oldest first ...  so people don't lose their star seller for "forgetting" to reply to each new thread

Yep, it's that ne "bundling" of Messages thing.  Etsy said they are doing it to make it easier for Sellers (I don't know if tweaks are finalized at this point or not).
Last night I sent a Messg. to another Seller (she asked me to). I used "Contact" (her Shop is on Vacation like mine).  The Message latched onto our Messages fr. January).
