Usually there is next to no information to be gleaned from those reports.....but I think this one has too much information? There are three people's names (first and last) and some alarming words in there too. I am thinking this was meant to be an internal memo?
Not just you, I got that email too. I think incidence emails only go out to those who subscribe to incidence reports.
I never got any email from Etsy.
I haven't received any emails from Etsy today
@NanaLetha @LaRenaissanceGirl That's weird, I thought incidence reports went out to everyone at once. I can't be the only one?
You are not alone. I just noticed it and came here online wondering the same thing. It was quite explicit and not at all like their usual report emails.
What sort of "incident report"?
I have never ever received anything like an "incident report" from Etsy, in 10 years. What kind of incident is this email about? Are you sure it's from Etsy?
Not just you, I got that email too. I think incidence emails only go out to those who subscribe to incidence reports.
Thanks, I was trying to reply back to let Etsy know and the message disappeared while I was doing that. I must have signed up so long ago I forgot it was an opt-in. Glad it wasn't just me, thanks.
@iFeltFanciful My shop has been open since 2011 and I've never even heard of an "incident report"!
Same here...since 2010. Obviously I have survived quite well without getting them.
(and from the sounds of things, I am not sure it is something I really want to know about anyway!)
I also got that email and agree that it was a lot more information that we usually get
Lol, I know, right?!
Agreed! I suppose I shouldn't assume they've finally decided to be transparent with the sellers?
They keep talking about transparency, transparency, transparency, but they continue to keep us in the dark (as with the hundreds, maybe thousands, of shops being put into forced vacation!).
email was from incident.io, never seen that before
I looked back at older incident reports to make sure, and all of mine come from that address. I think it was just a mistake. Glad they rectified it.
Incidence reports? Is it possible you ended up on an etsy internal email list by mistake? Incident reports are usually about things that took place within a company and are usually confidential. If this email wasn't about you and the incident didn't involve you, it sounds like a mistake.
I'm sure this one was a mistake. I've been selling here since 2009 and I get incidence reports regularly, but I usually have to come to the forums to even find out what the incident is. They are usually not very informative.
@iFeltFanciful I know, right? Usually it goes like this ...
"An incident has been reported."
"We are investigating."
"Everything appears to be stable at this time."
But they never use a NOUN so we don't have a flying clue what might have broken!
Granted, sellers probably don't need to hear about absolutely every glitch, but there have been some doozies over the years that TPTB took foreverrrrr to inform sellers about.
There's a button at the top of this page to subscribe to incident reports.
Yup I got that too! Happy for all the information lol better than not knowing
Is the forum being broken an "incident"?
Or are the fora "incidental"?
Yes, I got it too. I am subscribed to incident reports, but never have received one quite like this one - had no idea what to make of it. It felt like it was an 'oops!'
For sure!
I don't know how I feel about this.
