Violations on listings

I recently had 2 of my listings removed for violations. All of my listings, which are digital designs, have all been created be me in Canva. I’m the only one that works for my shop. I’m not sure the exact reasoning for the removal and violations are as I create all of the designs myself. Please help me understand.

Re: Violations on listings

Just because you created them doesn't mean they are legal to sell. Like, you can't sell 'Buffalo Bills' merch. That is TM'd, just like every other professional sports team. They have their own merch lines and don't want subpar items flooding their market and diluting their name.

Re: Violations on listings

Have you been cultivating the Buffalo Bills' brand since 1960? No? Then it's not yours to redesign or sell.

Look for a lot more to be removed.

Re: Violations on listings

Buffalo Bills is trademarked for clothing, cell phones, football helmets, etc.  If you have a license to use the trademark it would be a good idea to list it.  TESS is a good place to check for trademarks.

Re: Violations on listings

You should prepare for the rest of them being removed too. Not your IP, not yours to sell.

Re: Violations on listings

@716NickelDesigns: Keep in mind that "violated Etsys creativity standards" can encompass much more than just if it is made and / or designed by you. The violation can be anything from a 'prohibited' word in your title, description, or tags, to a non-conforming primary image, to being misclassified in core details, to intellectual property infringements, and lot in between.

Whenever you use other people's intellectual property you need to include YOUR licensing within the listing itself, otherwise it is considered a counterfeit and therefore illegal.

Re: Violations on listings

You can expect your shop to get closed and possibly you will be sued. You don’t own the rights to any of your products

Re: Violations on listings

Just came here to let other sellers know this is still an issue.

In Australia.

Had no problem getting funds deposited into my personal account for a year.

Changed details to business account.

Can't get them to deposit the funds into it.

Even after THEY VERIFY the account details with my bank statement.

Ruling out any data entry error.

My god their customer support is useless.

I just want to know what error they receive when they try to deposit the funds and fail.

But there is nobody that works for Etsy that can tell us that info.

Not even anyone in the accounts department apparently.

Will go over the address details again and report back.

Re: Violations on listings

@ApeTechPrinting: Sorry that you are having an issue, but it has nothing to do with the original post of this thread. Also this is an an old thread and may be closed by an Etsy moderator. You probably want to start a new thread of your own.

@BagmakerSupply

You're correct that ApeTech's post has nothing to do with the OP's problem, but they may the same problem in common sooner or later.
