There used to be a link 'View official Invoice' at the bottom left of your receipt. But a buyer messaged with a screenshot and there was no link.
My question is, where can buyers find their official invoice?
Etsy has never issued invoices to customers,
They are your customers, if they require an invoice, you have to supply them with one.
They have a confirmation e-mail on purchase,
If they bought through their Etsy account, they can o to "purchase and reviews" for information, but it's very little info
and you can download the order receipt as PDF and e-mail it,
but none of those have enough information for an invoice.

edited to add - I see you are selling instant downloads, your country isn't specified,
if you are selling digital downloads from the EU, it's complicated for VAT - if it's a VAT invoice they want, as you can't provide that to the customer
Etsy Ireland is your customer. You sell to Etsy as a business to business supply of services , zero rated VAT,
it's an intra-community reverse charge, so you need to include Etsy's Irish VAT number on the invoice, as well as the reverse charge info.
(Etsy are not a consumer, so your sale to Etsy is not covered by the consumer digital VAT rules)
.... I would get in touch with an accountant that specialises in this field, if you are in the EU
I checked some of my purchases and they show the link, even older purchases. Since it’s Etsy that issues the invoices, it will better for her to contact Etsy directly. I don’t think that there is anything you can do.
I have a
"view receipt"
but not
"view INVOICE"
When you click in view receipt, it opens the order page.
Below the listing image, on the left, I have a link that says View official invoice, and it downloads an PDF invoice from Etsy.
I don't have that, I have
package details
order notes
shop policies
I don't have "view invoice" and never have
I don’t have “package details”.
The first square is the item details, with photo title and price. Just below it shows the payment method and the VAT breakdown. This is where it has the link to the invoice.
Below are the order notes and shop policies.
Maybe this is just for EU buyers?
maybe it is for just eu buyers
I agree with Crafty I have never seen View Invoice only View Receipt.
I am in France and have checked backed through my purchases and on all of them it only states View Receipt.
@OwlAlwaysKnit @CraftyCornishMaids
I find it strange that you don´t have it.
You can see the official invoice link in the second pictura of this listing
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1181992597/vintage-floral-hand-painted-plate-marked
The invoice itself is similat to the VAT invoice that Etsy issues for seller fees.
that is just a listing of a plate, with 9 pics, there is nothing about an invoice anywhere
the second picture is a close-up of the flowers
it´s back up again.
no, I don't have that at all
@CraftyCornishMaids I have just seen this answer in another post about this issue
Etsy doesn’t provide invoices for physical items, only for digital downloads where VAT was charged. You need to provide the invoice to the costumer.
Could this be what the OP is talking about
@ProjectoAlfarroba I have never seen that but someone mentioned in another post about digital downloads so maybe thats why I have never seen it as I only sell physical items.
Crafty is the best one to answer this, I am sure she will pop back when she has time.
Edit : Sorry I meant to say I only buy physical items, then remembered a knitting pattern I downloaded.
It’s the buyer that has this link for digital purchases, not the seller.
If you bought a digital download on Etsy, you can check in your purchases to see if you have an official invoice.
Yes you are right, I have just checked a pattern I bought and when I clicked on View receipt it then took me to another page where I can see View Official Invoice.
It does state though
Note : This is not an Invoice
If you click on the link view your invoice it will download the actual official PDF invoice.
It must be only for EU buyers, since Crafty doesn’t have it.
But thats an invoice from Etsy and would not be an official Invoice from your shop as there are details missing, sorry I am not very good at explaining official things.
I’m not very good at explaining either especially in another language.
Digital and physical items are sold differently on Etsy. In physical items is the seller that sells directly to the buyer, so the seller has to provide an invoice to the buyer if they require it.
On digital items, it’s Etsy that is the seller and provides the invoices. The shop owner invoices Etsy, not the end buyer.
