Variation photos being unlinked for no reason.

Photos being linked to my variations are so important to my shop, so I now know why my sales have dropped. Because at some point, Etsy decided to turn off photo links to variations. I never would have done this, because again, they're crucial to the item. I just went through 50+ listings to relink hundreds of photos, so for the love of god, fix this bug and don't let it happen again.

Happened to mine too, and I’ve over 300 listings, I think it was caused by an update . I’ll be slowly working through my items to fix.

I have noticed this too and have had to relink my photos.

I've read here a theory that the photos become unlinked after the listing is renewed (after a sale). You might want to add an index (number or letter) to all variations just in case.

Crappy, that's a lot of extra work. There's Etsy for you. They fix one thing and break 2 others.

Were you using the new listing format? It’s been nothing but broken for me, won’t upload photos after publishing, changes my pricing, replaces my variations with older ones from a year ago… so I make sure to keep using the old version, because I doubt they’ll fix it.

I‘ve had the same problem several times now. As @Amaradorn suggested, I‘ve started adding a photo with overlaid text labels to some listings, just in case. It’s a real problem, because I had a customer order a box with maple accents, but the picture had defaulted back to the listing thumbnail, which is cherry. Fortunately I caught the discrepancy just before I shipped, and was able to double check with the customer and adjust the order. Otherwise it might have left me open to a NAD case, all because of a bug Etsy just keeps ignoring!

i have 10 listings per post and ALL the photos have gone , i now need to link every single one manually, absolutely disgusted

I have 350 listings and I have had to re-link them 3 times now, this is very frustrating during Q4. So unreliable if your making your living from this. Please help would be much appreciated Etsy forum and workers.

Facing the same problem...

Already contacted etsy support, but they couldn't help. Naively as I am, I would have expected they could.

It's really a shame that etsy leaves us standing in the rain for years now regarding this particular issue.

The forum is full of topics like this and still no problem resolution.
