Hi,
I am writing to express my extreme frustration with a recent conversation I had through your support chat. In summary, I contacted Etsy support to update my shop's bank account details due to a move from the EU to the UK. I was informed that I had to close my shop and create a new one for this change, which I accepted. However, the shop's name would be unavailable for reuse, even after deletion.
Support suggested solution of using a different shop name but that's unacceptable to me, as I wish to maintain my existing brand identity. Furthermore, the inability to reset my EU bank account details is incomprehensible.
What frustrates me the most is the contradiction between Etsy's commitment to helping shop owners create their brands and the inability to provide a solution to preserve an existing brand name. The inability to assist in this matter is baffling and contrary to the spirit of support and collaboration that Etsy is known for.
I am passionate about my shop and the brand I have built over the years, and I cannot accept the loss of my shop name over the inability to update my bank details.
I kindly request a prompt resolution to this situation. I look forward to hearing from your dedicated team and hope that together, we can find a solution that allows me to maintain my brand name and update my bank account details, as needed. I understand that issues may arise, but I believe in Etsy's commitment to help its sellers and hope that my case will be treated with seriousness and urgency. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I eagerly await your response.
Adrian
You are only talking to sellers here.
And once a name is changed, the original one can never be used again. It's been Etsy's rules forever.
But you could use the original name and add a letter or number to it.
There was a post about this a few days ago by an Australian seller who moved to the UK. Try to find it below and see if any of those responses help.
