Hi my lovelies so I revived a message from Etsy saying the declined someone’s order because of suspicious activity but that was one day after and I shipped the item out. Etsy said they’ve automated the refund but what does that mean. That they will pay the person themselves or deduct the payment fee from me ?
@EscentialBathBody Check your payment account. If the order was approved (ie. not still in processing) when you shipped, then Etsy should have refunded out of their pocket, not yours. If this is not the case, then contact Support.
If you shipped while the order was not approved yet, then it's your loss.
when you send the items, did you mark them as shipped?
If they were cancelled, and refunded, AFTER you marked them as shipped, you need to contact etsy
community and help - contact us - keep going until you get to - I still need help - and log a ticket.
They will probably autoreply with useless information, reply saying you still need help, as the items were refunded by Eysy AFTER they were marked as shipped.
.... however, as you are in the UK, you have to accept returns for a full refund, it is the law in our country for distance selling. As you do not have the legally required 14 days for people to return for a full refund, or a legal GDPR policy, or your address and e-mail address in sellers details, you don't have seller protection, so you may not get the funds back
also, you cannot sell gift boxes with shop bought items on etsy

Be sure to check your payment account. I had the same issue happen to me. The buyer was a legitimate buyer too! Etsy refunded/canceled the completed order. It had been approved and SHIPPED with shipping label. Then refunded from my payment account. This isn’t supposed to happen but has been a glitch since the beginning of the year. It’s kind of scary because you might not know of it if the buyer never contacts you. In my case my kind buyer paid me again. You should probably contact etsy if they took the funds out of your payment account and canceled the order after you shipped.
omg I just checked and they took the money from my account . It was because they had suspicion of fraud activity in the card or somethin. That’s not my fault I shipped the item the day before they emailed me that!
