Urgent Help Needed

Hello everyone,

I'm a seller from Pakistan and I’ve run into a serious issue that I hope someone can help me with.

I was doing well on Etsy with a 4.5-star rating and 16 completed orders. After I received my first payout, my Payoneer account was suddenly closed due to a mismatch in information. Since Payoneer is the only payment withdrawal option available in Pakistan, this has left me unable to access my funds.

I contacted Payoneer support, and they told me I can create a new account using the same personal details but a different email address. However, when I tried to update my Payoneer information in my Etsy Payment Settings, I found there is no option to remove or change the currently linked Payoneer account.

I’ve reached out to both Etsy and Payoneer support via email, but I haven’t received any response yet. In the meantime, I have pending payouts in my Etsy account that I can't withdraw, and I’m stuck between both platforms telling me to contact the other.

Has anyone else faced this issue? How were you able to remove or update your Payoneer account on Etsy?

Any help, guidance, or support would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to resolve this and keep my small business going.

You will need to write to Etsy and when they send you a generic response back then reply to their email saying you still need help.  If you don't reply to the email then the matter gets closed and you have to start again.  What was the mismatch in info?  Everything needs to match exactly so that what you have entered on Etsy is the same as your documentation, so the name format etc must match exactly. 

Check what you already have on Etsy by going to Shop Manager - Finances - Legal & Tax Information.  If it is different to your documentation then edit it and submit it.

@StarfabricsShop: "Has anyone else faced this issue?" There are many many threads in this forum about issues with Payoneer. According to some of these threads, you cannot change Payoneer accounts on Etsy but need to have any deficiencies corrected in the original Payoneer account.

You will need to contact Etsy.  It is possible you will need to place the new email for the Payonner account on Etsy.  Consistency is key here. So contact Etsy, tell them what Payoneer told you and ask them if you change your email address would that work.  The first reply back will most likely be generic so just reply back that you still need help.

you can only have 1 payoneer account, with 1 ID, 

Etsy does not allow etsy accounts to change owner

so they never let a payoneer account be unlinked, with a new one linked, as it would be change of owner

You have to sort out your old payoneer account, with payoneer ...... loads of threads on the same subject here

Just to clarify — I’m not trying to change the owner of the Etsy shop or the Payoneer account. I’m the original and only owner.

My issue is that Payoneer blocked my original account due to a mismatch in submitted information. After contacting their customer support multiple times, they confirmed that my account is now closed permanently and advised me to create a new Payoneer account using the same personal details (same name, ID, and phone) but with a different email address, which is allowed under their policy once the previous account is closed.

Their support also clearly said that the new account will link to Etsy once Etsy unlinks the old Payoneer account from their system. So, I’ve reached out to Etsy and am currently waiting for their response.

I’m not switching ownership — just following what Payoneer instructed after they closed the previous account. Thanks again for sharing your insight

@StarfabricsShop: Not defending Etsy's thought process, but since they use Payoneer to comply with seller verification laws and Payoneer allows only one active account per person it is understandable that Etsy does not have a process to replace Payoneer accounts since Etsy does not allow account transfers.

Plus they may view "a mismatch in submitted information" as suspicious in the context of seller verification.

you need to get payoneer to re-open your old account and have the information corrected

It is the only thing that works

payoneer support is wrong, Etsy does not let you unlink and link another payoneer account

@StarfabricsShop -- It is possible Payoneer may allow something to happen, but Etsy may not allow it ... and vice versa.  If your old Payoneer account is permanently closed, you may never receive any of those funds via Etsy!  So sorry this happened to you (and all the many others affected by the same dilemma) ... best wishes for getting things straightened out.
