Uploading Photos on new app

Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time. 

Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?

They shouldn't have discontinued the old app until this *very important feature* was fixed.

I hate this new app and have not been able to upload one photo since I was forced to use it.   I help with customerservice I tried 3 times with zero success

GREAT. The freaking new app will not upload photos from my iPhone- the old app did it just fine- until they took it away yesterday!

What are we supposed to do if we can't list because pics won't load? Seriously- ETSY, you have known about this for months.

On your IPhone you don't have to use the app at all. Go to Etsy.com and sign in to your shop. You can upload photos and make listings this way. I am so relieved that I figured this out. The new app is useless. You will keep getting pop-ups to install/use the new app. Ignore them.

It was a problem in the BETA version!  They have known about it for months.

I hate this new app. Total fail.

Nothing in it works and it has the speed of dial up internet.

Old APP is now GONE and you're suppose to use the new app. BUT the photo loading issue is still just that - an issue (not working). So essentially people cant update their store fronts and are more than likely loosing sale sbecause of it. Im trying to use the website after using the app for so long and niow Im having problems loading up pics becasue they dont recognize the .HEIC format (IOS photos). This place is going to hell in a homemade handbasket...........

I can't load photo's either unless I plug my phone into my desktop.  If I try and take a picture and say "OK", it bumps me out of the app all together!  Etsy has had many complaints about this and has forced us to use the new app.  It takes me 4 times as long to create a listing

I’ve switched to selling on Mercari until Etsy can resolve this problem. Mercari app is very user friendly and I can post items within seconds

Did anyone have success with their photos in the new app?  I still can't upload photos, or even take photos directly in the app!!   I've been shut out of the old app. I have to take photos, wait for them to upload to the cloud, then pull them out onto my desktop and upload to the listing from my desktop.  I'm not even fussing with videos! What used to take me 5 min, now takes close to 2 hours!  What is going on?  The app keeps telling me to contact support.  So I did, and they just sent me a link to the HELP page!  Are you kidding me?  When the new app was introduced, this is why I gave up on it, the photos wouldn't upload! We kinda need photos to sell our wares, do we not? I guess I can use the desktop top version on my phone, but what was the point of the new app.  Is anyone using the new shipping features? The print from your phone seems to work in the app, but again, I'm still using two different vehicles to accomplish the sale. sooooo

See thread! Yes, terrible, I can't load any photo's unless I connect my phone to PC- so like you said, one listing takes way longer than it used to.  !

Me too! This is NOT acceptable. I NEED to post new listings & this has been going on for at least a month & now that they've made the old app unavailable, I'm pretty panicked.

Hi, has anyone else noticed a difference between loading photos on a new listing, and trying to on a draft or an inactive listing ? 

I could load 8 photos in a batch on a brand new listing (YEAH, I could open a thread called "Celebrating Milestones and Acheviements with the new app")

but could only load 7 photos, one by one, painfully, on an inactive listing I wanted to refresh.

Yes!  I always copy my listings, and I make sure I leave one old photo from the copied listing so I don't end up in the loop of it telling me you can't have a listing with no photos.  Photos that it won't let me upload.  Some upload, then some don't. It's totally random.  I thought it had something to do with Horizontal vs Vertical, but that wasn't it.  I checked my sizes, that wasn't it. I have the current OS. That's not it.

I cant do it either i thought  it was just an android issue but obviously not. I have been doing it on browser but thats not working now either so cant add anything unless i download my photos from google and do it via desktop meaning a 3 min process now becomes about 20 mins. For vintage sellers this is massive as we list new items constantly

Same here.  Has everyone called support?  Do it. Flood them with complaints.
