Uploading Photos on new app

Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time. 

Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?

This is happening to me too!  I tried chatting with Etsy, and they really didn't help.  SO many are complaining about the same issue

OP, when I create a listing on the new blue app on my phone, I can choose the camera icon or files icon. You should be able to choose photos from your files. I am using a Samsung Galaxy phone. It is a very slow process for photos, unfortunately.

the app will let you choose photos from your files, however it will error out when uploading.  I have tried to do multiple and just single photos, and photos of different file sizes as well.  It just doesn't upload.

I have been chatting with etsy support. They had me force stop the app, delete then reinstall the app, nothing.  Now they are sending a report to the tech team and will get back to me and then I'll update here when I hear something

I just loaded a couple of pics to a listing, and they uploaded ok from my iPhone in the photo section, but they took away the ability to toggle pics in the listing using the phone.  I do a lot of "work in progress" listings where I add new pics as I go.  I want the latest pics in spot 1, not at the end, which is where they stay until I go back on my laptop to put them where I want them.  But they uploaded fine and quickly.

Yes I cannot upload photos at all with the new app. Doesn't work directly from camera or after editing. Have reported this "bug" over and over. I have to go back to the old app which works just fine. So frustrating and scary if the new one never works for me.

This thread is not new but it is still happening. I can easily upload on the old app. I cannot on the new one.

I am having exactly the same problem, regardless of whether I take a photo or choose from my photo library. I get a message to "contact Etsy if this keeps happening" which is completely useless, as the response doesn't resolve the issue.

I have gone back to using the old app. I don't know what I'll do when it's made obsolete.

I am having issues too and I am trying to upload directly from my MAC, it's so time consuming having to keep trying to upload photos again and again. I end up going back to the old one as that works perfectly.

Same on my iPad.  Reported it again and again via feedback, but nothing.  If they disable the old app I'll have to use the computer which I hate as you can only load one photo at a time and it takes ages.

And on an iPad (on the .com) you can’t change the order of the photos. The problem has been ongoing for 2.5 years now. So changing just a thumbnail requires app use (unless you download ALL of the photos and re-load in the preferred order). Changing photos can be done on the new app, but it’s nowhere near as easy or as intuitive as it is on the old app.

ETA and the new app STILL doesn’t orient in landscape mode. Freakin’ ridiculous!

@ClaresBrocante I always upload from my laptop and it does in fact take forever for photos to load - even more so now with the new template. I just keep wondering why does it take ages compared to other platforms which are quick and easy and photos upload soooooo much faster! Why Etsy, why?
