Upload Government-issued Personal ID by

Halo

I've been having problems since last month I got a firsts sale and it arrived "my account is in automatic vacation mode, I was asked to re-upload my Document ID. I did it a week ago but it still says pending verification (even though it says verification 2 -5 days, more than a week, I have not received a response, and here I am also asked to verify my bank account. If I want to verify my bank account, I find a gray button that cannot be clicked. Is there a solution or have you experienced how to solve it? If I don't get 6 hearts my account will be suspended

@azhkha5hbxch94bu Okay, so it's normal for Etsy to put a shop in forced holiday mode while they verify your Government ID. I assume they do this manually because according to other reports in the forum it always takes a while - maybe 2-3 weeks. I'm sorry it's taking so long but perhaps once this is complete you will be able to confirm your bank account. I think you will just have to wait I'm afraid.

When confirming your bank account Etsy will deposit a tiny amount into your account (they never debit money from you - I say this because there are currently scams where sellers have lost a lot of money by authorising a debit which is never paid back). Make sure you set up everything on the Etsy website and don't go to any other sites (unless it's Plaid for US verification - I don't know where you are).

Also check your emails because I can't see a shop attached to your profile which is unusual. It could possibly be that Etsy has suspended your shop already due to failing verification. Check your regular email inbox including junkmail/spam (as emails from Etsy legal often end up in there by mistake).

@azhkha5hbxch94bu I'm sorry I don't know. I set up my shop 10 years ago and we didn't have ID verification back then.

Are you using a browser (website) or the seller mobile app? I recommend using a browser as some functionality is missing from the app.

@azhkha5hbxch94bu can you tell us more about your problems please, break it down for us so it's easy to understand and also log into the forum using the account linked to your shop.

Be sure those messages are not from scammers. Genuine Messages from Etsy will appear in the 'from Etsy' folder of your message inbox (check using a browser).

Re: Upload Government-issued Personal ID by

Last month I got my first sale, then suddenly my Etsy account was forced into holiday mode, then I tried to contact Etsy support via email, there I was asked to re-upload the Government Document ID, I did this from January 2 to January 9 the information in the Legal tax information says "pending verification" any action regarding Verification of my Documents that I have uploaded, even though it says verification takes time (2-5 business days)

while on my dashboard there is a warning sign asking to verify my bank account otherwise my account will be suspended, but there is a gray column that says "get Started" but it can't be clicked properly. I want to verify my bank account

It seems like there is something related to Document ID verification which is still "pending verification until now, I am very frustrated with this

I'm sure it's not a scam because there is no incoming message

I am having the same problem:

1) Made first sale, shop got put on Vacation mode automatically

2) "Required Action" to upload government issued ID for verification

3) got to the upload page and found out some fixed up prepopulated information required to be on my ID - Company name instead of my personal name, my Date of Birth, business address instead of my home address.

4) attached images of ID anyway, but the submit button is grayed out. Cannot submit.

5) replied to the Action Required, but bounced back saying the sender email address is not supported

Cannot find anywhere for seller support contact, come here for help. How to contact Etsy Seller support?

Do I have to wait for Government ID verification for 2-3 weeks, even though it says 2-5 business days ?

but to verify my bank account, Etsy gives a time limit of 15 days and now there are only 3 days left if I don't immediately my account will be suspended, remembering that if the account is suspended it is difficult to get it back

what should I do regarding this? I'm very confused and frustrated, please help me. If you want to know the contents of my dashboard, I'll tell you. I'm very confused. I didn't get any emails regarding my shop even though I've contacted Etsy several times. If this fake purchases which caused my account to be suspended, what should I do?

There is not shop attached to to your name.   What is the name of your shop.  Coming here means you have a shop and you need to use that shop here.

Did a sale actually appear in your shop.  On the shop home page and in orders?  If not then it was a scam.

If you then got an email from Etsy in your email not messages asking for ID?  That's one thing.  If the request came through messages that too was a scam.  Etsy only emails for request information.  They don't use the message system. If you did get an Etsy message it would be in the folder marked messages.  If using the app, then use a browser instead.

It is possible your shop has been taken by hackers.

When you sent an email to Etsy was it through Contact us?  If not then you sent emails to addresses no longer used  by Etsy.

Submit a request – Etsy Help   Click on selling on Etsy.

@azhkha5hbxch94bu Honestly without seeing your account it's difficult to say what's going on (only Etsy Support can see your account). It seems you have a few different problems which may or may not be connected.

What is the URL of your shop? (I haven't been able to find it)

Are you sure the email address linked to your Etsy account is correct?

You will probably have to wait for Etsy Support to get back to you. If you receive a generic reply email from Etsy Support then reply to that and tell them you still need help.

Ensure you only contact support via Shop Manager > Help > Contact Us. Don't use Etsy messages to contact Etsy Support. Don't call any telephone numbers or emails you might find on google - these are scams.

Again - make sure you are not simply reacting to messages in your Etsy message inbox - these could be from scammers even if they look like they come from Etsy.

Also - what does this mean??? "If I don't get 6 hearts my account will be suspended" Who told you that?

@Amaradorn

You can't help him. He's in the same situation I'm in. After the first sale my store was in vacation mode. Since the window to upload my documents did not have my country, I contacted etsy. etsy gave me a new link, but it was too late.

My account was suspended. After two weeks of uploading documents I decided to contact etsy. but after your account is suspended you can't contact them. There is no way!

I tried for a month to contact them using various methods. Finally I got an email that was not the robot default email. They are now asking me to upload a new file.

I think waiting until their next reply may take another month again.

@NewSchoolWave thanks for your insight. I'm sorry that happened to you too. Please let us know either here or in your own forum posts if you manage to get your shop back.

I think I was more concerned they were being scammed. It's difficult to know when the details are vague. I don't know if OP even has a shop at this point.

@Amaradorn

This is a very common problem and not a scam. etsy's service is not ideal and I've seen people complaining in the comments section of many platforms that they not only suspend a lot of small stores, but also a lot of big stores. And when your store is suspended you can't contact them anymore. It takes a long time for them to reply or fix the problem (1 or 2 month), which causes a lot of people to leave etsy.

I think this problem can be solved eventually, but it takes a lot of time and effort. Currently I have been waiting for a month.

Your store looks nice. I'm glad you're not having these problems because it's really frustrating and desperate. Especially when I got suspended immediately after selling my first order.

@NewSchoolWave thanks for the compliment. I don't remember it being this complicated when I opened my shop but that was 10 years ago so much has changed. Now I try not to change anything on my account unless I absolutely have to in case it breaks something.

I got two sales because two people bought my products. My account actually went into holiday mode after the first sale.

They will turn your store into holiday mode after your first sale. You have to upload your id. Otherwise they will suspend your account after about two weeks.

There was no country for me when uploading the id so I asked etsy and they gave me another link. But it was too late and my account was suspended.

When your account is suspended you will have a hard time getting a reply from them. I contacted the etsy team about 30 or 40 times and only received two human replies and no mention of how to solve the problem.

You can only wait for them helplessly. I have been waiting for a month and two weeks.

If your account has been suspended.

My suggestion is to send an email to etsy and if that is bot reply then you need to keep replying to this email "I still need help" until you receive a human reply.

Once the email is sent, all you need to do is go do something else or find another platform, don't waste your time here. I lost sleep over this for a month, but there is no way around it, the etsy team doesn't care about the accounts they have suspended.

I've been here for a lot of years and had the notice on my dashboard from Etsy to verify seller info. I did it on Friday and I got the message that it was confirmed. I'm still seeing the alert on my dashboard and contacted chat. They told me to go through the steps again. This time the government id upload was flagged in red. I uploaded my drivers license pic and got the message that it will take a few days to verify. It was all through my Etsy dashboard not emails. I did check email and received a notice that I had to complete the steps within 10 days. Apparently there is a new federal thing where all LLC have to upload a photo id by the end of the year.

Yes, but after your account is closed by them, you can no longer get verified by them. You can't get reply from them. I am currently in this situation. Almost two months now.
