Updating Vacation message due to FORCED vacation mode

Hi folks,

I responded to another thread stating this, but I figured since so many are affected I would start a new discussion. My shop was forced into Vacation Mode like many others since last night right at the peak of the holiday shopping season. I have not received any communication or response from Etsy. I'm guessing most customers are probably completely unaware of the scale of this issue so the only thing I could think to do is update my vacation mode message and automatic response to read:

"It appears that Etsy is currently suffering from a massive technical glitch. Many shops, including this one, have been forced into "Vacation Mode" involuntarily since the evening of Dec. 14th. Please be aware: I am not on vacation and I am still accepting and filling orders. You can visit Etsy's Seller Forums to see the scale of this issue. So far no one has reported any resolution to this ongoing problem and Etsy has not given me or anyone else any kind of notice of why this is happening. Etsy also has not responded to my inquiries. Thank you for your patience and support during this ordeal."

I think it would be a good idea for everyone suffering through this same issue also update their vacation message to something similar to help spread awareness of this horrible situation that has impacted so many trusted, loyal and star sellers in this community.

Najlepšie je dať odkaz na svoj web, ak ho máte (teraz ľutujem, že ho ešte nemám, pretože predpokladám, že tento dovolenkový režim bude časom platiť pre všetkých predajcov)

Agenti na chate Etsy mi vždy hovoria, že čítajú všetky príspevky na fóre Etsy, takže verte, že sú si tohto problému veľmi dobre vedomí. Len neviem, či si technici zobrali dovolenku alebo riešia iné vážne problémy, keďže Etsy sa spolu s Ebayom ocitli v dvoch televíziách o tom, že predávali tričká a iné pomocné veci pre nejakého chlapíka, ktorý killed niekoho vplyvného v USA začiatkom decembra. Viem, že Etsy mala pred pár dňami veľké zmazanie týchto príspevkov a že ich nebolo málo. Ale neviem, či to mohlo spustiť lavínu ďalších technických problémov.

How do you accept orders without violating Etsy policies? And how do we not lose sales when all of our items are hidden from view on our Shop pages and searches?

when you ask  How do you accept orders without violating Etsy policies

you do this by making sure you understand what Etsy says can be sold here and that your items qualify. Head to the help section link at the top of the page and ask, What can I sell on Etsy.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am in the same boat. My shop has been on vacation mode since Wednesday although I have received emails from Etsy two of them and each one stating that the documents I sent them from my corporation in Quebec, Canada is not what they’re looking for such a runaround so disappointing and so disgusting. I am a star seller

I also faced the same situation. My Etsy account was put on holiday mode and they have yet to inform me by mail or message. I wonder why they did when the Christmas season is going on. Please suggest what should I do?

this is the latest email from etsy and I am so confused as the address is the same as on etsy and was updated with the government in October when I moved my shop.

@pipeworkpieces don't click on any of those links in the email. (and please remove the hyperlinks from your comment asap just in case).  You could/should go to those places on your manager pages directly. If this was a thing, I'm sure there would be a banner on your dashboard. 

I would try to contact Etsy directly via the option on the manager page.

@pipeworkpieces I think you only have an hour to edit comments.

To remove hyperlinks, right click on the link. You should get a dropdown menu and have the option to remove hyperlink.

I am a seller from Québec, Canada, and I’ve been facing the same issues since December 14. Despite having over 2,000 five-star reviews, excellent customer service, and all my information being verified, Etsy has not provided any explanation for the hold or issue on my account. This is extremely frustrating, especially right before Christmas and right after the Canada Post strike.

Same here!

And just this week a customer left a package in front of his door for three days, it was lost or stolen. He opened a case, etsy refunded him from my account without asking me anything. Two days later, forced vacation. The most unprofessional sh I've ever seen. Disgusting!

I wonder if this would make a good news story...maybe those whose shops have been put on vacation without an explanation can contact CNN.  This is their email:

Thank you @Jewels2at I just wrote to them doubt anything will come of it but at least they will be aware of the 100's of us having our shops closed at the same time.
