Unwanted vacation mode

A week ago today I discovered that Etsy had put me in “vacation mode”. This was a big surprise to me and after looking into it they wanted me to download my drivers license which I did. They acknowledged that submission and said they’d review for two to five days. It’s now eight days later and now after a week they tell me they want my name. I have been an Etsy seller for sixteen years, and a star seller with a five star rating but they don’t know my name? So now I have submitted my name again. Am I to wait another two to five days? I have tried every day to contact them in every way I could find but to no avail. Only today did I get an email from Avi who I hope is not a robot. She told me about entering my name. They say it’s easy to contact them but it’s not! What am I supposed to do? Scott

@Nelles: Sorry that you are having such issues and not sure what to tell you to do. There seems to be a major problem at Etsy with verifying some accounts.

"I have been an Etsy seller for sixteen years ..." Unfortunately immaterial. The continually changing laws mean that shops will face ever more often and more in depth (re)verifications. What was acceptable verification yesterday may be inadequate today. Keep in mind that for a business, both the business AND a responsible human being now have to be verified. Since so much of this process is now automated (and not just by Etsy) small discrepancies can cause delays and rejection as not matching - John E. Smith is often considered to not the same as John E Smith.
