Hello,
I had a sale on my shop where it appeared the product had somehow become lost in the mail. It had been over a month with no tracking updates and the buyer was upset so of course I gave them a full refund by cancelling the order. It is now two weeks later and decided to look at the tracking it ended up being delivered. The seller didn't message me (probably happy they got a free product haha) and I'm wondering if there is anything to do about this. I messaged them about collecting payment and as expected I haven't gotten a response. Has anyone dealt with something like this before and possibly been able to un-cancel an order and get paid? This was a fairly expensive product. I do plan on contacting support but wanted to come here first.
By refunding/cancelling, the original transaction is null and void. Finished. Over and out.
Anything new, from here on would be a new and separate transaction. For Etsy (or anyone) to bill the customer's credit/debit card again, without the customer's authorization, would be a very illegal thing to do.
No need to contact Etsy. Nothing they can do. And would definitely put you on Etsy's "radar" for selling/listing items that are not allowed on the site, according to Etsy's TOS (handmade, vintage, supplies).
I think you should let this go, if you keep contacting the seller they may contact Etsy themselves and that could open up a different can of worms for you.
You voluntarily cancelled the order, it's gone.
Nothing can be done by Etsy
the customer may wan to return it, or re-pay, but they don't have to.
and you really don't want to be on etsy's radar, with what you are selling
