I see others having this same error when they try to share their listing to Facebook Business page (not personal page) but haven't come across a solution as of 2025. Does anyone else have this same problem?
User opted out of platform
The action attempted is disallowed, because the user has opted out of the Facebook platform.
I have verified my Etsy domain and turned on apps/website permissions on Facebook Manager. Not a Facebook expert here so any advice on what needs to be done would be appreciated!
I am Having the same issue and been trying all day and searched as many forums as possible - I still cannot get it to work - Etsy say its Facebooks fault when I contact them - Facebook ( Meta ) is uncontactable
Same here! I guess this issue won't be resolved any time soon..
what does that mean "Facebook's fault?" FB gives codes, Etsy needs to see if the codes are in the proper place and working. Customer service cannot do this. They need to refer it. I asked this be done in my case. I will let you know if I hear back - I was told they would email me.
Did you ever get it to work?
I have the exact same problem you and many others do. Facebook says the solution is that someone (technical) at Etsy needs to LOOK at there HTML code and check whether the code which META assigned is in the proper place. I don't understand why this is brain surgery and can't simply be done. I gave the customer service person on chat the Meta Tag, with the request she ask someone on the technical team to just LOOK at the coding on my site to see if its in the proper place. They said Etsy would notify me by email. That was this morning. Hopefully I will get a reply.
Hoping for help here. Didn’t hear back yet from Etsy!
Still no word from Etsy on this. Wondering why no response. It's been a few days since I contacted customer support via CHAT and I was told I would receive an email from Etsy Support.
Whenever I want to share a listing (or my shop) to FB, I just copy the public URL for the page and paste it into a post on my (business) FB page. I've never been able to get it to work properly.
It is now September and still not working here.
Maybe have Facebook open in a separate browser tab and make a direct post with the link
Facebook / Meta is a hot mess and a lot of their business features don't work properly.
I just had someone place an order through my FB shop that I disabled months ago, and Facebook never notified me of an order - no email or anything, I had no idea. And I have no idea how those item listings became active after I disabled them.
I had to cancel the order because it was an item that had sold out.
If you have their business suite and ever had items listed for sale there or have your Facebook shop synced with another platform's items, check FB regularly to make sure it's showing the correct items and that it didn't reactivate something you disabled.
