Let me start by saying I HAVE NOT sent any unsolicited messages.
The only people I have messaged are the ones I’m responding to regarding an inquiry of a particular item OR when someone makes a purchase. Those are the only ways I’ve connected with people…
Now my messages are temporarily disabled. I’ve tried contacting Etsy but they keep ignoring my emails. I’m incredibly frustrated because I have people reaching out to me asking about big orders, and I can’t respond to them because ETSY disabled my messages!!
What the hell do I do now?! It’s been a nearly a week since this happened…
Why are you sending messages to your buyers?
Thanking them for making a purchase and asking if they want the miniatures split up or in one piece.
Regardless, that shouldn’t get my messages disabled given that they ordered an item first and then I contactedthem.
I’m having that happen with only very specific messages to which I cannot respond. I don’t want it to impact my seller status, but the messages are not from potential buyers, they’re from people trying to get me to pay them for their advice on my shop…
@WhateverHealsYou - Mark these solicitations as "Spam". No reply is needed if you do that. And imo there is no need to be too polite to those who send these spam messages.
Though do note, you may need to do this from a browser & not the app. The app is a thing unto itself & does not necessarily have the needed features, or work the way you'd think it should.
That’s frustrating…especially when it effects the star seller badge
I have noticed that not all of the same features are available from viewing/editing Etsy in browser vs. In app. Thank you for the suggestions!
@SummonerStudiosShop Take one email and respond back to Etsy that your ability to reply to messags from buyers is not working. Another seller had this issue too and she had to dog Etsy using one email to get them to fix it. Don't open many tickets. Etsy will shut down response if there are too many.
In the meantime, email your buyer if you need to ask a question. First saying thank you is kind of redundant. That can be done by including a message in the message to buyer that is included in the email Etsy sends to the buyer. If the question is about shipment of a huge order use the email address.
you are the 6th shop i have seen.
that have had their messages disabled.
selling the same types of items.
i do not think it is a technical issue.
