I seem to be unable to purchase a label from Canada Post for a location in Canada.  I can enter the information but it comes back with - 0 labels purchased.

I just spoke on the phone to a Canada Post rep and there are no specific issues that they are aware of concerning the integration with Etsy shipping labels.  Soooooo...what now??

Same here!  I have 4 packages to go and need to get them done today.  I'm trying very hard to reach the Star Seller status using labels (even though it costs more) and this doesn't help.  Darn!  I'll try again later.

Omg thank you for checking and confirming that Canada Post isn't working for you either! I was starting to feel like I was going crazy! I do have an account with them and a credit card on file, but I don't use their site too often, so I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong?? 
Ugh, it is so so frustrating - but I think the most upsetting part is the lack of communication. I understand technical bugs happen, but can someone from Etsy just please let us know what's going on and what we are supposed to do about it??

Was experiencing this only this weekend but managed to intermittently purchase labels during the AM yesterday. I wonder if it is due to maintenance CP often do on weekends.

There is a warning message on ebay shipping that Canada Post is "experiencing issues" so anyone who has called CP and they have said they don't know what's happening are getting the run around from CP

I just tried via my login at Snap Ship and its a mess. Address Book says no contacts, unable to do anything there. Lucky I can do tomorrow without Etsy "penalty"

Likewise. Incredibly frustrating. I bought some labels directly on Canada Post yesterday, but today that no longer works either. Please be careful as I just noticed tracking numbers piling up on my dashboard in Canada Post that have no relevance to any orders in Etsy. I think I am being charged by Etsy for every failed label purchase! What a total debacle. Will Etsy step up and sort this out? To make matters worse, I recently had a payment reserve put on my shop (despite my 99% shipping score over four years). Etsy has refused to specify exactly why. Some vague "policy violation". The only way to release the funds for orders is to ship. Now I can't ship. Fun times in Etsy land. Add all the gratuitous fees and shops somehow allowed to sell bulk Chinese products, and it may be time to move on. Sad.

I had the numbers piling up on CP from failed Etsy purchases, but was only charged for the one that worked. Probably the same for you? You can check the posted charges on your CC to be sure.

Except CP worked yesterday when Etsy didn't. I bought several labels manually and then closed my open orders by adding those tracking numbers in Etsy. Today neither platform works, yet I see several tracking numbers in my dashboard on CP that could only have come from failed attempts to purchase labels directly in Etsy. Who paid for those labels?

I am having a similar issue, except that I am in the US and can't purchase an international label. The button has been unavailable for two days now. I have contacted Etsy support twice and both times got word-for-word the same copy and pasted reply: it's not currently available, we can't see why, perhaps use an alternative shipping service. This is frustrating and time-consuming. When it's working, the Etsy international service is so fast and easy. Now I have to setup an alternative service, fill out the customs forms, print and ship, and then enter the other tracking info into Etsy. On the up side, it looks like the price will be the same. (Through Paypal/Shipstation.)

Anyone else experiencing this issue from here in the states?

@BagmakerSupply yes of course, but who's to say that I am not charged by Etsy later when this mess is resolved? If I failed to purchase the label, then why does a corresponding tracking number for every attempt now show on my Canada Post dashboard? Sorry, but that's not acceptable - even if I am somehow charged and refunded at a later date. Fairly certain it's going to be a hassle to deal with. Those tracking numbers did not just magically appear on my CP account. Yet there is absolutely no way to print the labels or attach them to an Etsy order.

I have seen this issue with orders within Canada and recently to Hungary. The purchase shipping label button in Etsy was mysteriously greyed out. Absolutely bizarre. Thankfully I got them out manually in Canada Post (at a higher cost than they should have been) such that the orders were not shipped late.

Having this issue with all Domestic Canadian addresses. Etsy suggested using an alternative carrier, which isn't possible in my region. I am forced to purchase at the Canada Post outlets at a higher rate. Very frustrating that they don't seem to care to fix the problem.

I found what caused the issue for me. I kept getting the error "you just purchased 0 labels" "1 label failed to purchase".

My buyer had a character in the address that Canada Post does not allow (they put "\" instead of "-"). When you start the label creation process there is a button at the top right that will let you edit the address. I did that, corrected the address, and then the label was able to generate without any errors. Hope this helps somebody!

Same here. It's been 14 days since I've found this issue. And it refers to all international shipping (not only Canada). I ship from the USA to many countries in Europe, Australia, South America, and Asia, and I can't generate any international shipping labels. I called Etsy Customer Service and they said that this was a technical issue but they couldn't say then the problem was solved (!).

You can get those labels on PirateShip and I think they are less because they allow "Simple export rate" or something? I don't ship internationally anymore but maybe someone who does and uses PS can chime in. (this is an old thread so it may get closed)

This has been an ongoing issue for some time now. Etsy seems in no hurry to fix it. I am forced to purchase labels at a postal outlet at a higher rate. Supposedly Etsy is supposed to issue refunds on the difference upon proof of receipts. Highly inconvenient and time consuming!!

I was hurrying a bit because this is an old thread so I skimmed - I noticed that hopeandjoystudios recommended Pirateship, just above. I have to second that recommendation! No idea if there would still be issues but sorry Etsy, I've used Pirateship for quite a while now and their customer service (and pricing) has been fantastic. Those few times I've had a problem or question I contacted them and got hold of a human very quickly - who was actually able to help with my issue.  They are worth checking out!
