Unable to cancel an order

The first time I tried to cancel the order, the error I got was that they were unable to charge me for the refund.   I tried to check my account to see what credit card they have in there (because I got a new card recently), but I was unable to access the billing tab.  I assume that's where my credit card info is?  It was just a blank screen.

The second time I tried to cancel the order, I got an error that said "it's taking longer than expected to process this" (or something to that affect).

anyone having issues?

@DivineMemories  - If the order just came in today then no the funds are quite yours just yet. It will usually take until the next day or so for the money to be in your available for deposit.

Which is probably why you may have seen the notice about being unable to bill your credit card. To cancel & refund on the same day as the order requires you have an active credit card # on file. Note you'll need it to receive your deposits to your bank account too.

That you got a different odd notice on the second try, it makes me wonder if there may be issues with the buyer's payment method.
If you can wait on this until tomorrow, that might be the thing to do.

To check on your credit card info - shop manager - finances - payment settings - to the billing tab.

I just tried to open the cancellation screen and it is working for me.  Since you are having multiple issues related to the cancellation it sounds like there is a glitch for you.  Etsy runs off many different servers so you might be on one that is having trouble at the moment. 

I'd leave it be for a few hours and try again.  If the buyer is waiting, or you feel the need, let them know there is a technical problem at the moment but you will try again in a few hours and will keep them posted.
