I'm trying to add 3D printing models to my shop as digital downloads, but it won't let me upload the .stl files. I keep getting an error message that it's the wrong file type, BUT .stl files are literally in the list of required file types??
Has anyone else encountered this and know the solution? I've also had the issue before when trying to add .zip files, which are also supposedly allowed.
Error message:
Please upload files that end in .bmp, .doc, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .mobi, .mov, .mp3, .mpeg, .pdf, .png, .rtf, .stl, .txt., .zip, .ePUB, or .iBook.
When I order clipart, often I get a PDF telling me to click a link to some Google Drive that has now given me permission to access the files. Not sure where you are uploading the images, but I can say that not ever PDF sends me to the same Google Drive or Google Cloud. Some are different than others, as far as the landing page and download page. So maybe you need to look into that. Hope you find the answer.
Are they too large? Sounds like maybe you are over the maximum size, since both .stl and zip files are in the list of approved files to upload.
same thing is happening to me
Instead of uploading the .stl file to Etsy, try compressing the .stl file into a .zip, this is how I have to list all of my files. They also will not work if they’re over 20mb
