Recently the card we have on file have been canceled and we are now in need of adding the new card in order to cancel an order and pay our Etsy ads. The order is past due 4 days as of right now and we tried contacting support multiple times and they are unable to help us solve this issue. The card is active and we are able to use it in multiple other places and its not a prepaid card. The error we keep getting when trying to add the card is " There was an error processing your request. Please try again."
We have also tried using different browsers.
I have read other threads recently about this same problem. I think it is an Etsy glitch that they won't admit to. Especially with the message you get it sounds like an etsy glitch.
I tried to process a refund last week. The refund process progressed through the first stages but, when I "confirmed", it the screen did not give me the Refund Summary Notification Message, but simply jumped back to the Order details. When I checked the Order, it did show "Refunded". About 10 minutes later the "Refunded" notation disappesred and I received an email advising
"It looks like something went wrong, and a refund of AU$xxx for Order xxxxxxx on 05/04/24 couldn't be processed.
No need to do anything for now. Your buyer may reach out or try to request a refund again on Etsy.

Problem was, the refund was not made until 23 May.
There were adequate funds in the Payment Account to cover the Refund, so my CC was not needed. But Ichanged the CC to one I knew was OK, just in case.
The second Refund failed and I received the same message. So I added a Mastercard (the other 2 were Visa Debit Cards). Same result.
I contacted Etsy by Callback and asked the Rep to manually cancel and refund for me. They tried to process the Refund while I was on the Call and I watched as the Order went to "Refunded" but, about 5 minutes later, the "Refund" was ereversed and I got yet another email, Again the date on the email was incorrect. The Support Rep raised an escalation as she could see for herself what was happening
In all, I tried 6 CC and received 6 failed to process emails, all stating the Refund failed 19 days before is was actually made!!!
Just last evening the Buyer advised me the Refund had been processed, but, as expected, I have received nothing fro, Etsy to explain what happened and what they did to "fix" the problem.
What a mess. I don’t know if this helps but when we had to get a new card with a new number after our car was broken into, I found out that you have to enter the new card information before it will let you delete the old card.
This is correct but, in this case, I believe the Cards were successfully updated / verified, but there is some sort of "system glitch" with the Refund Process. The email sent after the failure of the Refund implied there was nothing wrong from a Seller's perspective. I have never previously seen that type of email sent in relation to a CC issue or a Refund failure. And the incorrect date certainly seems to indicate there has been a coding / programmig error.
