Unable to Update Shop Location – No Dropdown Appearing

Hi everyone,

I’m unable to update the location of my Etsy shop, and I’m not seeing the dropdown menu to select a city at all.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Using different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) on desktop

• Clearing cache and cookies

• Disabling VPN 

• Switching devices (desktop and mobile browsers)

• Entering valid city 

• Waiting 30 seconds after typing before clicking Save

But despite all this, there’s no dropdown menu, and no city can be selected — the field just doesn’t offer suggestions or save anything. I’m editing via Shop Manager → pencil icon next to shop name → Location (desktop site).

Has anyone else experienced this?  This is crucial for my shop’s visibility and building trust with buyers.

I experienced this years ago, then based in Den Haag, that City seemed to be unavailable at the time. I did contact Etsy several times but kept getting automated answers, so chose the first nearest City available which was listed (Amsterdam)

Over time, they must have realised that Den Haag is really a big city of the Netherlands and I was able to change it after 2 years or so

I get no drop menu options at all, I've tried with bigger cities around me, cannot safe the change.

Go to your shop front and try via there.

Click edit shop

Then click the pencil icon where the location should be

This is how I've been trying to do the edit, is there other option?

In the mobile app is not possible.

Open a browser, do not go into Etsy via the app or your dashboard.

Once you see your shop page on Etsy.com

You can edit from there.

top left hand corner of the page, click "edit shop"

@CryzalisMasksUK   Shop edit and the public profile do not work.  I know.  I edited mine and now my location is gone.  It simply does not work.

oh, I see, 

I guess is some issue on Etsy side then. 

I haven't contacted support yet. I'll give it a few more days.

I have the same problem, no city, no country. If I type and press SAVE, it doesn't work.

same, thanks for sharing, it seems that It's a Etsy issue

Maybe if you log in to your Etsy’s account first and then try to change the address. Maybe like this it would work.

I also just had to change my location--couldn't make it work in Safari, Chrome or Firefox. I updated to the most recent Firefox and it finally showed the drop-down and the change stuck. Maybe this is of some help?

Just tried this and it didn't work for me :/. I'm on Mac though.

I'm on Edge with the issue.  

Not a fan of Firefox but just maybe I will try it.

How odd. I am also on a mac. Sounds really hit-or-miss. I also tried the phone browser and it didn't work for me. Who knows!

This is happening to me too. I contacted support, they had no answers for me. They said they were forwarding the issue to a "specialized team" and i'll hear back in 9 to 13 days.. wish they could've just gone in from their end and changed my location. They even asked me why I feel like I need to change the location...lol. No idea why the dropdown isn't working. I live in a big city too.

@tastingink   Did you tell them it was an Etsy requirement to have location showing?  (Smirk)  Sometimes they are so clueless about their own guidelines its just mind blowing.

nope. that's old. trying to change it to where I live now.

EDIT: got it to work using mobile browser request desktop site!
