I am new. I realized a few days ago that no one was able to purchase anything from me. I finally figured out that it is because I am not enrolled in Etsy Payments. When I try to set up Etsy Payments I get an error saying that I need to change bank account type, but there’s no way to change bank account type because I am not enrolled in Etsy Payments. Huge error circle!
im not positive but I think it’s because when I initially set up the account I put in my as Joe, and not Joseph when setting up my bank account through Etsy by mistake. When I realized this I tried to change it, but couldn’t figure out how to.
I was being verified through Plaid.
Does anyone know how to re-setup my banking info through Plaid? Please help.
You are enrolled in Etsy payments. I added an item to my cart with no problems. Check your account to see what name you used when setting it up.
JoesPlaceSpokaneWA I don't know how to set up banking through Plaid but to help you a little further I noticed the beginning of your listing descriptions are not keyword friendly. Here's a recent Announcement from Etsy.
"Updates to Etsy Search: Listing Descriptions"
Hi, all!
As you may know, a listing’s description has always been important when it comes to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), as Google and other search engines crawl entire pages for keywords, for ranking purposes.
Etsy Search now considers keywords and phrases within your listing descriptions when ranking your listings. The keywords you use across your listing titles, tags, categories, and attributes are still essential when it comes to matching you to the right buyers.
So what does this mean for you? Now that Etsy Search is looking for keywords within your listing description, the algorithm has even more to scan—allowing us to get your items in front of even more buyers.
Some tips for writing listing descriptions:

Oh my gosh, you just helped me do much! I’m going to change everything while I’m waiting for a solution to the Plaid thing. Thank you!
You will have to contact Etsy, I am afraid. This has been happening to others as well since Etsy has been involving Plaid in the process - Plaid is a new thing Etsy has been testing. I have not seen a fix for it that we can help you with yet. Hope you get the help you need.
Thank you SO much for letting me know. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
It’s happening to a lot of us. There are other posts about it here. It can look like people can add items and try to checkout, but then they will get an error message when trying to check out. I had the same problem reported to me from multiple potential buyers, sending me screenshots, before I had a friend test it for me. I don’t think there is any way we can fix it ourselves, and etsy customer service haven’t been responding to me at all, despite the automated messages I get back that say they will get back to me in 48 hours or however long. If someone does find a way to fix it, I’m hoping they come back to these forums to let us know!
Exactly what’s happening to me. Thank you.
@JoesPlaceSpokaneWA A little tip- If you contact Etsy support your first couple of messages are sure to be little to no help. There will be a question "Did this solve your problem?" (or words to that effect) Let them know it didn't and eventually a real person will look at the problem and hopefully be able to help you out. Stick with your original help request message thread. If you don't, you drop to the back of the line and will only get the canned responses.
Oh my gosh, thank you SO MUCH for all of your great tips. I’m going to take u up on all of them.
thank you again. You brightened my day.
